Bombproof tire

Comments On Feb 18, 2015:I started running this tire with the Tubless system about six months ago. I wanted a tire that was extremely puncture resistant. Last year at the Desert 100 race I got a hole in my Pirelli and got a flat. I finished because it was near the end of the race and the Tubless kept the tire locked on the rim. The Desert 100 is hard on tires. I knew this tire would be stiff because it's designed for heavy dual sport bikes, not a light KTM 200. It's crazy stiff! Best results are running very low psi, around 2-3. It's wearing very well, has actually softened up with use. It does deflect more off of rocks and roots than my soft Pirelli did. Bottom line, this tire is bombproof and wears very well. I have hammered this tire hard and nothing fazes it. It's a bit of a compromise but for me it's worth it to avoid a DNF.

Toughest Tire Ever Made

Comments On Dec 26, 2014:I have been running Tubliss front and rear for about 5 years and was constantly getting punctured tires on my front for the first two years. Then I tried the Dunlop 908. My punctures went down from about 6 a year to about one every other year. I have run this tire ever since and don't have any plans to switch because of the toughness. I run the pressure at about 4-5 psi and the traction is good, not great, but good enough and I NEVER worry about getting a flat when charging hard through rocky sections etc.

Love 'em / Hate 'em

Comments On Sep 21, 2014:I have a love / hate relationship with this (front) tire. Without a doubt this is the best offroad tire for a big ADV bike, but on the road it's horrible. At higher PSI the tire felt very unsettled and wanted to follow every crack in the road. At lower PSI it's better, but low PSI, highway speeds and long distances are a bad combo.

Perfect big bike rear tire

Comments On Aug 30, 2013:One of the few choices for the rear of a big bike like a KTM 990. Great in the mud, seems to be holding up well to a lot of pavement. Only slight downside is fairly noisy on the pavement but no tire does everything perfectly.

908 Front Tire is Unstable on Road

Comments On Jun 07, 2013:The 908 rear is great, but he 908 front is terrible on the road. I get a predictable head-shake right about 75-80mph. The tire just doesn't want to track straight. I used Michelin's T63 and Pirelli's MT21. Both are more stable at the higher speeds, but are not as aggressive as I would like on the dirt.

Front not good for the XR650R

Comments On Jul 11, 2012:Front was horrible, speed wobbles at low speed sent it back after trying all possible cures, back has 1100 miles and going strong. Traction as good as expected for the design.
