    the Original Tourance Tires
I have gone through many pairs of these tires on my GS. I can easily get 10k miles out of them. Great handling.

Great on the road, including wet conditions
The Tourance is a great all around tire. I ride roughly 80/20 road/off-road. They are excellent on the road including wet pavement. They are adequate on gravel and dirt roads. They do struggle a little in mud. I've driven through wide creeks with no problems at all.
Rocky Mountain ATV is awesome. I ordered a replacement set for my Vstrom and they contacted me 2 weeks later say Metzeler had a rebate on them. The rebate started on the day I ordered them but it wasn't advertised. RMATV made it super easy to apply for the rebate.

From Utah to Alaska and back
I had a set of these tires mounted on my V -Strom 1000 for a Utah to Alaska trip this past July. My bike was loaded down pretty good and it pulled a small trailer. I got 7500 miles out of the rear tire at the wear bars. I would have liked more mileage but under the circumstances I'm happy. No flats, great traction on gravel, some mud, wet and dry pavement, smooth and easy on the turns. On the other hand my wive's Suzuki cruiser fitted with Metzeler ME 880 tires, still has lots to tread to wear. I would buy these tires again but I wish the 880's came in my V Strom's size.

    Great multipurpose tire
I was going to buy the Karoo 3 three but was recommended this tire as I also use my bike to commute on the highway to work and it should have longer life.

I've had it a week and have just returned from a 9 hour day on the bike incorporating loose gravel roads, highway, singe track and clay. The only things this tire struggled with were a steep, wet clay hill with multiple switchbacks (it made it up reasonably easily but with a lot of sliding), and a steep, wet, grassy paddock hill. For a less than 50/50 tire this sure can handle plenty of off-road elements, if you don't mind your rear sliding if its wet.

I have this matched with a TKC80 on the front.

Great on Canyon Roads Good in dirt but low mileage
This tire is great on tight twisty canyon roads and pretty much any other road condition. Its ability to hold corners is remarkable, yet it wears really fast when pushed to the point of sliding in corners. If you ride street all the time and you like to push corners really hard this is not your tire. You can get more mileage out of a good street tire. If you ride the dirt on occasion this is a great tire for you. This tire can actually be pushed a little bit in the dirt which is rare for this design of Dual Sport tire. If someone tells you you can get 10k miles out of this tire, that person is riding like Grandama....expect 3k to 5k tops.

    Torrence rear tire
Good so far. 2000 miles and see no wear. Smooth, tracks well thru corners and dirt roads. Haven't been in the rain yet. I think it will be a good tire for the price point.

Best bang for the buck for mileage and traction!
I have 70,000 miles on my 1200GSA and another 100,000+ on 2 1150 GSAs. I ride very aggressively over multisurfaces. Texas chip seal roads really wear tires. I get the best mileage while still getting decent traction on a rear tire. I have used the Tourance to take my bikes to the top of Engineer Pass in Colorado as well as some nasty single track that my cylinders were hanging up! If you need better traction up front, try mixing KArooT with Tourance rear...nice match and still handles well on street!

Tourance Good in the slick mud
I put a set of the classic Metzler Tourances on my 07 Vstrom 1000 and rode to Prudhoe Bay from Washington State. The tires worked very well on the road and worked OK on the Dalton up to Prudhoe Bay. Lots of rain and slick mud and I never fell on my butt once. Not as good as more aggressive knobby tires off road but a good compromise when majority of riding is on pavement. If you can change to Knobbies in Fairbanks it would be ideal but I didn't.

    Metzler Tourance on R1150GS
I love this tire for the BMW R1150GS. I always look at the other alternatives when it's time to replace another set, and I always go back to the Tourance. They get me where I want to go within reason, and I'm getting 12-15K out of a rear tire and 20k+ out of a front
