I like to use OEM gear oils in all of machines and after looking at several dealerships who did have in stock iI searched Rocky Mountain ATV. It was nice to find out that they stock the OEM brands.
The gear oil by Yamaha lasts a long time. I just did my 10hr service on my YXZ 1000 and it was still like new. I still changed it per the maintenance schedule for my vehicle.
The yamalube was at a good price and seems to do a good job keeping my gears lubed used yamalube for years in my banshee so can't go Rong with the gear oil. -m-2007 YAMAHA RHINO 660 4x4--
BEST ANSWER:Yes, this is what Yamaha recommends for your 2017 YXZ1000R SS, for both the front and rear differentials (1 bottle will do both). I have a 2016 YXZ1000R and the front and rear diff's are the same as the SS. Good lubrication, and you can't really go wrong with using Yamalube for Yamaha's!

BEST ANSWER:I have used it for my 2016 YXZ 1000r front and rear differentials with no problems at all. This is what Yamaha calls for in your regular fluid changes.
