ALSO to counter act the first review- GREAT +++

Comments On Dec 03, 2013:It is a GREAT jacket that does what it is meant to do. it is a LIGHT weight packable jacket. that when the warm air gets a little chilly you pull it out. it is NOT a coat for winter days at all. If you know anything about Gortex, it is WATERPROOF. it is light. and it does not block wind.
IE, the nylon it is on, is the only warmth available. it HAS to breath to let the moisture inside (steam) out. meaning it does not stop air.
I LOVE them, and put down cash for both the gray and the black. Gray is the everyday "light jacket" we just got back from Colorado and got caught in the September dusting of snow. it was perfect for the off-road ride over the pass, (with a sweat shirt and a jersey underneath)

It depends what you want it for.

Comments On Oct 10, 2013:I felt compelled to write a review for this based off the only one that was posted. I have tried this jacket on in a shop, and it's EXACTLY what I'm looking for in a thin layer of protection that would let me SLIDE on the pavement instead of my skin grabbing and tearing. This is a VERY thin, no insulation, gortex outer layer that offers wind protection only - which if you know anything about a vapor barrier, it does offer some warmth. I live in Southern Ca and want SOMETHING covering my arms riding on the street in the daytime, but a heavier jacket would have me sweating at every traffic signal. The pit zips are THE best when it comes to thermal control - this is just like the design of my Marmot Precip jacket I use in mountaineering, only it's a lighter color and has reflective strips. I'm guessing the guy who wrote the other review was looking for something with insulation and didn't know what this was. BTW, I've seen other solutions to ventillation in jackets and nothing works as well as pit zips. Where do you first sweat ? your armpits, so it makes sense to put the ventillation there. Don't know why they redesigned it without the stowable hood. I searched around to find this older design because of that.

Comments On Dec 10, 2011:I was completely dissapointed. I thought it may keep a chilly summer night more bearable if i had my bike out to late into the evening, but this jacket serves no use for warmth. Haven't had to try it in the rain yet to see if it's waterproof like they also say.
