So when the black sole on my Tech 10 wore a hole i decided to go this route over sending the boots out for a professional resole and regretted it almost instantly. The sole as a whole wears down when you install just this part it actually sticks above the white sole bed on the boot. Not to mention the supplied glue is not very good and lasted roughly 3 rides before it started to peel. Install was per the directions and utilized a heat gun like recommended. My opinion is to just skip this deal pay the money and get the boots professionally fixed.

Glue didn't hold for more than 1 ride.
Very frustrating as we followed the directions exactly. One of the sole inserts fell off completely during the first race I used them.

Didn't hold up.
Glued these on and let them sit for a day before use. Unfortunately they didn't hold and started to come apart during the first ride. Just save yourself the trouble and ship them back to Alpinestars and have them do it.

Didn't work out
Pulling the old soles off and preparing the surfaces per the directions wasn't any trouble. However, applying the soles was a pain. The insert didn't conform to the shape of the insert area, and the glue would break free even after applying pressure for a few minutes (only required 20-30 seconds according to the directions). I devised a way to hold the inserts on for a few hours, and everything finally looked like it was going to work. But 2 rides later I lost an insert and the other one was breaking loose. Dunno why I had all this trouble, but it seemed they changed to a harder compound and it wasn't molded to the proper shape. I got the right size for my boot, but I'm afraid to try this again.

Easy to use
The Alpinestars Tech 10 sole inserts are fairly easy to use. You just need a heat gun or hair dryer to get the old sole inserts off and to set the glue on the new ones.

Tech 10 resole kit
The local cobbler screwed up my last boots so I decided to give this kit a try and do it myself. Overall I'm happy with this resole kit. The price is great. The instructions were good and easy to follow. No complaints.

I wish Alpinestars would make the soles out of a harder compound, but at least I can replace the inserts.

worn out
I go through one set of soles a year. Very easy to replace as long as you follow the instructions! You need a heat gun and pliers to peel off the old sole. gettin ready to put another set on, great setup, replace the sole not the entire boot.
