Details

The Epic Knee / Shin Guard is EVS’ top of the line guard when you’re looking to protect your knees and shins. With the large multi-pivot joints on both the medial and lateral sides of your knee, the Epic provides a good amount a stabilization, but it is still considered a guard, not a brace. If you want more of that brace-like rotational protection, look towards something like the EVS SX01 or SX02.

However, the Epic Guards do take several cues from EVS braces like dual pivots, a floating knee cup, and asymmetrical braces so you get a fit that’s specific to your left or right leg. Bio-foam lining all around the inside of the guard helps you get that locked down feel, but more importantly this lining keeps you comfortable by eliminating pressure points and rub areas. Finally, one of the best points is the buckle system that is both positive locking and quick release so the EVS Epic Knee / Shin Guards are easy whether they’re going on or coming off.

    Specs:
  • Sold in pairs
  • Dual pivot hinges on medial and lateral sides of knee
  • Protects shin, knee, and lower thigh
  • Floating knee cup follows your knee while bending
  • Buckle system releases quickly, locks positively, and adjusts easily
  • Comfortable bio-foam inner lining
  • Upper and lower cuffs conform to your leg
  • Sizing:
    Small/Medium............ Under 5'6"
    Large/X-Large........... 5'6" +

Lasted 18 months
So I've had these knee guards for 18 months so this is a good long term review. First the good things about these knee guards is that they have been very comfortable. They bend and move naturally and fit well in the pant. Now for the bad. They have pretty good protection but there is spaces around the floating knee guard that branches can still hit you in the knee. The straps are my biggest complaint. I don't think i ever made it through a ride without at least one coming undone. Also the thing that finally did them in was one of the straps completely ripped out. They don't have any elastic to them so that might be why. For the money they were ok but i'm going to try something different this next go around.

Could use some improvement
These are very comfortable, but the buckle system is not very impressive after a few Moto's they seem to come unlatched and then they are floating around held in place by only my boots

EVS Epic Knee/Shin Guards
Great knee shin guards till the paying shifts and the bolts on hinges rub ur legs raw and leave bruises. Other than that a great knee guard if u can pad the hinges.

EVS protection
I blew the bolts out of mine after taking some good crashes, they did there job and took the blow offering great protection. I had a hard time keeping track of the buckles that would fall off in my gear bag because they are not permantly attached. I would definitely buy evs again.

How well do the EVS Epic Knee/Shin Guards fit into the top of your boots? Are there any pressure points created by the buckles?
David S on Feb 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: . Eyewear text seven boots I wear Tech 7 Alpinestars and the shinguards fit nicely into the top of the boot. I was actually pleasantly surprised on how well they did fit . I don't notice it at all while riding and walking with them is not too bad either. I have not noticed any pinch points . Ocassionaly I have to readjust them to realign the Velcro but that is about it
