Leatt C-Frame Knee Brace Review

Leatt C-Frame Fitment

Motocross Knee Brace Buyer's Guide

RM YouTube Channel

An entirely new approach to further help prevent knee injuries for motorcycle, ATV and snowmobilers. No knee brace can prevent all foreseeable knee injuries but Leatt laboratory engineers and other medical professionals have come up with a radical departure in design to help further reduce injuries over what traditional "cage type" knee brace designs can do. Based on three point force distribution, the C-Frame has a super stiff C-arm mono hinge design for maximum force control. Having a single hinge, mounted towards the outside of the rider’s knee means the rider can better grip the bike with the inside of their knee that is closer to the bike than other designs allow. A comfortable, low profile shin bone plate replaces traditional arms for better comfort and better rotation control. This plate also allows rider with larger calf muscles to wear a knee brace for the first time. InteliLink hinge with double pivot points, ferro-ligaments and sealed bearings inside better replicate natural knee motion and have a very long lifespan. Vented upper leg plates eliminate the narrowly focused sideways forces on the soft tissues of the thigh. This increases sideways bending of the knee as well as helps reduce rotational forces. It also allows for better fitment on more shapes/sizes of legs without the need for expensive custom molds. Leatt engineers also felt that knee cap protection could be improved by placing a comfortable CE impact certified protector onto a knee brace sock that is worn with the brace. This not only absorbs far more impact, it is very comfortable and better insures the knee cap is where it belongs through the whole ride or crash.
  • 3-point force distribution.
  • Super stiff mono hinge construction.
  • Adjustable soft lock outs help prevent hyperextension.
  • Super low profile of inner knee for better bike control.
  • X-straps on thigh and calf for better fitment.
  • Integrating sock with CE certified knee protector included.
  • Leatt signature 3D design for the best possible fit.
  • Sold in pairs.

Great stuff! lacks some comfort

Comments On Oct 29, 2015:I think the idea is great: nothing on the inside and breakaway points to prevent a long bone fracture.
They are mostly comforatable and work well once they are adjusted right.
I'm not sold on the tiny strap buckles and the straps themselves are iffy. The velcro is starting to come undone during rides. The top 'harness' just doesn't fit me at all and I feel they missed on that design.

Great Brace

Comments On Oct 19, 2015:Have used these for about 9 months now and they do their job well knees feel great and bike feel is great. At this point the one knee cup broke off however i contacted leatt directly and their customer service is excellent. After telling them my issue they sent out new parts immediately and assured me they make every part replaceable so you can keep them in good working order in the event of a failure due to crash. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for serious knee protection.

Durability issues

Comments On Jul 24, 2015:The braces started great with fitment, function, and slim feel being an improvement over previous braces used in the past. Soon after initial fitment the plastic guard extensions that attach to the lower carbon fiber developed fitment issues. Later the metal studs pulled free completely. A few rides later the attachment points for the straps began to give out preventing a good fit. To be fair this was over the period of several months and riding events. These braces were great to start but wore out faster than they should have.

Tried on many different brands,

Comments On Jun 10, 2015:I like these the best. Sometimes the inner plastic will get caught on my shrouding as I move from standing to sitting...

So far so good!!

Comments On May 15, 2015:I've worn these knee braces for 5 rides and I really like how they fit. There is a lot of adjustment to customize the fit. They make my knees feel like they are being supported really well. They are also really light weight.

My best brace yet

Comments On Nov 11, 2014:I've been wearing braces of some sort since the middle 70s. Some were off of the shelf and some were prescription ones.
I've had these Leatt C-Frame braces for a few months now and I really think they are the best I've had for feeling what the bike is doing. You can actually feel the bike against your leg instead of being against the inner side of the brace. They make your bike feel slimmer and I feel that my foot stays on the foot peg better because you aren't being forced to be bow legged..
You can make them too tight though and it will make your legs tired quicker, so be careful with that.
