Built into a uni-body design and made for riders that want an entry level headset, the Sena 3S Communicator takes basic features and puts them into a fair price along with one of the lowest profile form factors to date. If you’re only interested in getting a solid but entry level of connectivity, the 3S is one of your best options.

With the 3S the main feature you’re looking at Bluetooth® connectivity that lets you pair two of your devices whether that’s a passenger’s headset, your phone for hands free calls, or a GPS unit for voice directions. That’s a good amount of usability but understand this is all done via Bluetooth® pairing, not an intercom function. So connection range is 200 meters, which is realistic for talking with a passenger, but not another bike.

However, the 3S has features unique entirely to itself. It’s the first Sena unit to be completely waterproof, not just resistant. It’s also the least obvious unit from outside as the speakers (which hold almost all of the electronics) fit into the helmet’s speaker cutouts and the only thing visible from the outside is the low profile two-button pad.
