The Core EXP 3.0 is Rekluse’s latest update to their Core EXP line and their most advanced clutch yet. Rekluse is still providing the uncontested best for weekend warriors and professional racers alike by giving them the same smooth shifting, raw power delivery, and zero stalling that all Rekluse centrifugal clutches offer.

With Rekluse’s 3.0 update, the Core EXP is taken to a new level of refinement and precision. A redesigned clutch plate now has less rotating mass thanks to large lubrication openings that promote cooler operating temps. The increased durability of the 3.0 means greater component life and less adjustments to the system as a whole once you have it dialed in. When your traditional clutch fades the Rekluse is engineered to hold fast and keep that precious horsepower transferring to the rear wheel.

What does all this engineering mean for you, the rider? That rocky climb you stalled on? You’re going to fly up it. The technical terrain you’ve never been comfortable with? You’re about to pick it apart. Tired of eating roost at the track? Welcome to the world of faster lap times. With updates and cues taken from previous generations, the Core EXP Clutch 3.0 has the refinements, performance, and absolute control you need to move up in the riding world.

  • Improves traction in technical and slow terrain with a smooth power delivery and limited tire spin.
  • Increases durability by increasing oil flow though clutch and including premium materials in the construction.
  • Installs easily with all the componenets you need and a seamless integration with stock/OEM components.
  • Made 100% in the USA: Rekluse supports the sport by designing, manufacturing, and shipping everything under the Rekluse name from their headquarters in Boise, Idaho.

    Includes
  • 3.0 Clutch Hub that resists notching due to its design and greatly reduces weight compared to the stock component.
  • 3.0 Pressure Plate for greatly increased oil flow and reduced mass thanks to the extensive cutouts.
  • Steel Drive Plates that provide unrivaled consistency and repeatable clutch engagment even when clutch temps rise.
  • Some models include Rekluse Clutch Cover for trick looks, a strong guard against debris/brake pedals, and the room your clutch needs to work at peak performance.

    Benefits
  • Virtually eliminates stalling
  • Improved slip/fade control over previous models
  • Increased durability from premium materials
  • Lighter assembly for a lighter feeling bike
  • Increased lubrication from better oil flow
  • Cooler operating temperatures
  • Fully tunable to rider preference and terrain condition

    Construction
  • Centrifugal auto clutch that replaces your stock components
  • Still allows engine braking
  • Enables use of clutch override lever
  • Enables use of optional left hand rear brake kits

Pricey but worth every penny!
I race TCCRA here in Texas with all kinds of terrain. I admit I am not an expert or pro by no means. The Rekluse 3.0 Clutch has made me such a better racer. Before the clutch it was hard for me to compete because of stalling on the technical stuff we race. After the clutch it was night and day difference. No more stalling and I am sitting 5th out of 40 in points for my class. Only negative is you lose the engine braking on down hills but I can deal with that!!

Single Track Tamer
Makes tight, steep, rocky single track much easier to tame. No more stalling. This version allows full use and feel on the clutch if you need it. Lock up the rear tire with no stalling.. it's like cheating.

This version replaces all clutch parts except the friction plates and the bask (comes with a new bale and pressure plate assy).

East to install with my average skills. Took me about an hour to install.

Make sure you buy more parts on top of the $1000 they already sold you.
Pretty sad when you spend $1000 and have to buy your own gasket guess they don’t sell those because no one sees the name on a gasket. thanks a lot

A skeptic turned
Love it love it love it, was a little skeptical at first but I ride allot of single track and woods and don't make a paycheck on it so this tactical advantage is a welcome help. Mind you I'm only 5'9" so when I need to do a rear wheel 180 on an off camber switch back it's an awesome thing. Little expensive but well worth its weight in greenbacks.

Clutch system!
I just installed this and went through the recommended break in process. I’m fairly mechanically inclined and with the instructions and a YouTube video or two I had this installed in a day. It takes some time to get used to, but so far I’m really digging it! On a different note, Rekluse customer service is excellent. They were happy to answer the questions I had.

A must for GNCC type riding
If your ride and kind of single track or woods type riding or even technical stuff this is a must. The will allow you to focus more on riding and don’t have to worry about using your Clutch wearing you hand out or stalling your bike in technical sections. Bike will work for efficient and can still use it as a normal clutch to get that getup if need be. It will chatter and make some noise so invest in a Hinson clutch basket to go with it. I wouldn’t recommend it for motocross but any other type of riding yes.

Love Rekluse products. This is my second Core EXP. One of the best upgrades one can do. Install is easy and step by step directions are easy to follow.

Fantastic product if it's as good as my last auto clutch.
This is a quality product, installation was straight forward and simple with the rekluse supplied clutch slave. I had a revloc dyna ring in my 450. They are out of business. The rekluse is a more refined product. I haven't had the bike in the woods because we got a couple inches of rain but I did the break in and tore up the neighbors bean field a little. This was a 2012 ktm 250sx install.

I purchased the Rekluse Core EXP Clutch 3.0 for my 2014 KTM 500 EXC and I want to be sure all the parts I need are included. Or.....do I need to buy clutch plates or anything else????
B E on Oct 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Everything you need is included. Excellent Clutch package, you'll love it. I installed my on my 2012 Yamaha WR450F. When you install it, pulling you oem basket off, you don't have to take it all the way off. If you do remove it, make sure you put it back correctly, because I broke my kick-start gear because I had no idea it had to fit in a groove. Also, I crashed on my WR and broke my leg, somy wife and daughters talked me into selling it. I am 60 yrs old, but I miss my WR a lot. I had everything you could possibly add or buy on my bike, it was super fast, handled perfect and a blast to ride in the AZ desert around my home. I hope I helped you. Make sure you adjust your clutch according o the instructions. There are videos on their website and their Customer Service is excellent also, I called them several times, they were very helpful.
Does this come with the clutch basket?
A shopper on Feb 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No it does not. You will have to order a Rekluse clutch basket separately. This Rekluse clutch does not require a new clutch basket.
Do you still use the clutch lever with this clutch?
Grant D on Aug 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You have two choices here. You can still use it just like a normal clutch lever for starting off and shifting if you want to and It feels exactly like the original manual clutch. Or you can elect not to use it at all.. your choice. I recommend using it some to start off as well as feathering to gain power. The main upside is that the bike will never stall so you can focus more on the technical riding. The down side, which is minor, is that the bike will roll while in gear so you can't use engine compression to keep the rear wheel from turning. Hope this helps.
Can you still use the clutch with Brisbane package?
Ian K on Mar 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can still use the clutch!
How does the auto-clutch affect engine braking? I use the engine to brake often on steep and technical descents, and want to know if I would still be able to do that with a Rekluse installed.

BEST ANSWER: The engine braking feels like something half way between a four stroke and a 2 stroke. But it is basically nonexistent at very low speeds. If your riding style depends on engine braking you will have to get use to using your rear brake a little more. The nice thing is if you lock up the rear accidentally it doesn't stall.
In tight single track it makes it easier to ride smooth instead of fighting the engine braking, but then again I am used to riding a 250 2 stroke.

I am riding a KTM 350 with the Radius and it provides a great balance of smooth in the tight stuff and quick on the track.
No more bump start. What does this mean for bikes with electric start only and no kick starter (2017 ktm 250f)? Is this a deal breaker?
Brian B on Apr 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: clutch'sBrian , not sure if it would be a deal breaker for me. I think the benefits out weigh the draw back of not bump starting. But then again I ride a lot of woods with some very hard hill climbs. Myself I don't understand why KTM stopped installing kick starters on the new bikes. I have a 2015 KTM 300 XC and a 2015 YZ250FX and they both have electric start and a kick starter and Rekluse clutch's . If I rode a lot of MX tracks I wouldn't think the rukluse would help you as much as it would in the woods
Does this clutch kit increase the oil capacity on my 500 exc?
William R on Oct 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I didn't notice any change in the oil capacity on my 350. Before I purchased mine I called Rekluse directly with a few questions and they were extremely helpful. They have excellent customer support.
Do I need to install a different clutch cover on a Crf150r?? If so does it come with the kit??
Jim J on Apr 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you do need a different clutch cover. However, the kit comes with the appropriate clutch cover included.
i have this clutch in my 2014 ktm 150xc and the metals are shot. what metals can i use?, i tried putting the stock ones in and they didnt .
sage w on May 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure what you mean by the metals, maybe the clutch plates? If so you are probably using the wrong oil, possibly a synthetic which will cause problems.

I have 4 friends as well as myself that have a Rekluse clutch in our bikes. We all use "Shell Rotella 15W 40" oil. It is a diesel oil that not one of us has ever had a problem with.
Is my recluse clutch interchangeable between my 2008 YZ250F and my 2008 YZ450F? It is currently on the 2008 YZ250F
Scott S on Jan 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Call rekluse. One of the best customer service companies I've dealt with. (208)426-0659. They answered questions for me, few warranties, and put me in touch with pros for specific questions. Great

Can this item be shipped in Greece?
Maro K on Nov 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, we are unable to ship Rekluse items outside of the U.S. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

BEST ANSWER: The 2016 and 2017 YZ250X use the same Core EXP3.0.
