Rekluse EXP 3.0 Clutch

Comments On Apr 22, 2016:First let me say that an auto-clutch will make your life much easier on a 4-stroke. It's almost like cheating, because you can lug the bike, lock the rear wheel with the brake, or lay it down and never worry about stalling. Only if you do something really dumb like pulling 4th gear at a crawl in a corner will it stall. I started with the 2.0 and never installed it, then when the 3.0 came out I called RM and they agreed to exchange at no cost!! Great service!! The EXP 3.0 is great for moderate level riding, but for MX racing you need the Core EXP 3.0. Where the EXP replaces some of your clutch plates with the auto-clutch unit and requires heavier springs, the Core comes with a slightly larger clutch cover that allows you to use the full complement of plates and normal weight springs. The difference is a normal clutch pull vs a stiff pull, and also better durability and smoothness. With the Hondas in particular, the EXP alone can lead to clutch chatter which sounds worse than it really is, but it is hard on the basket cushions. I ended up upgrading through Rekluse directly to the Core EXP, plus got one of their billet baskets with new cushions and all new Rekluse plates. Have not installed yet as of this writing...to be continued. Currently back on a 2-stroke.

Awesome

Comments On Apr 08, 2016:I would buy one of these before a helmet for my next bike Very easy to install, remove the specified number of plates, drop in the rekluse, use provided springs - done. Then set the free play on the clutch lever - this takes ~ 20 minutes. Then break in with a few acceleration runs.
You will never stall your bike again, and can focus on body position into corners vs. gear and clutch

No More Arm Pump

Comments On Feb 15, 2016:Got the Rekluse EXP 3.0 after a lot of research. I ride a lot of off road tight single track. I can now concentrate on riding instead of arm pump. It was so easy to install and adjust. I find I don't ever use the clutch lever while riding. I do however pull the lever in while starting incase I don't have it in neutral. Clutch works so well that when I come up to a log or other object all I have to do is blip the throttle and I have more control raising the front wheel. Kit comes with two optional spring adjustments but I left mine on the stock setting after talking to the tech at Rekluse before I installed it. seems to work for me. Oh and by the way I can keep up with the KTM's now. Love it.

Rekluse Clutches

Comments On Dec 23, 2015:I installed this clutch on my KTM 350 XCF-W and spent one weekend riding the tight NH woods with it=totally hooked! Makes difficult sections easy and so fast out of corners. Really increases traction and reduces wheel spin because you ride a higher gear. Already installed one in my son's 2015 250 KTM XCF-W. Very simple to put in and just need to check free play in the clutch lever periodically.

Rekluse EXP 3.0

Comments On Dec 02, 2015:Having finally grown tired of flameouts while covering the clutch on a large bore high compression 4 stroke for tight technical woods riding I finally gave in and purchased a Rekluse. It was easy to install and I recommend it for folks in the same boat. The downside is it promotes a lazy riding style and somewhat nullifies compression braking. If you ride a two stroke with a hydraulic clutch I wouldn't recommend unless you suffer from arm pump.
