RM YouTube Channel

Details

The Q-Stealth Silencer from FMF gives you performance, styling, and low sound output, all from a company that's dedicated to supporting 2 strokes.

FMF shows that support by packing the Q-Stealth with new updates and unique technology. Headed by Don Elmer, the design of the Q-Stealth is based on producing the lowest sound output possible while still retaining all of your 2 stroke’s performance.

With low sound output the Q-Stealth also provides a USFS approved spark arrestor. Meaning you get a silencer that'll get you into any track or trail without strangling your machine's power.

    Specs:
  • Designed to give lowest sound output possible
  • USFS approved spark arrestor
  • Great for the trail and track
  • No loss of performance or power
  • More time between repacks thanks to larger packing volume
  • AMA and FIM enduro legal
  • Meets 96db sound restriction
  • Made 100% in the USA

Super QUIET and Legal
Seen some positive reviews and some negative ones on this silencer, but I got it anyway.
Here's my review after about 10hrs on it (vet WOODS rider):
1) EXTREMELY quiet at idle and low rpm compared to my old stock one. Nice lower tone at idle too.
2) NORMAL amount of oil out of silencer after extended low-rpm riding (regardless of what others have said about this one "making the bike splooge")
3) 4-stroke'ish can size/length (No significant weight gain).
4) - (negative) Didn't line up very well with mounting holes on my subframe (2007)...but made it work.

Prefer the turbinecore 2
Nothing wrong with the stealth but it weighs a lot, is huge and the sound does not seem any quieter than the Turbinecore 2.

FMF Q-Stealth
Unit works great. People always comment how quiet my bike is. Combined with my gnarly pipe, it has improved my low end.

Great pipe when sparky needed
I needed a spark arrestor pipe for a competition. My Beta didn't come with a SA (which is stupid IMO). In any case this was an easy swap with the stock FMF pipe, sounded similar and didn't require rejetting.

I did notice the stock non-SA FMF pipe has a 1" diameter outlet hole and this has a 1.25". Maybe the internal diameter is bigger on the SA version to account for flow loss?

Q-Stealth on KTM XC 300
If you think the stock XC 300 exhaust sounds too loud & high pitched, the Q-stealth is just right - lower, deeper sound (which makes it 'seem' quitter, didn't do a decibel test though). More like a 4-stroke sound than the stock 2T on the 300. Now, not concerned about riding around the hood at night.
Only a little heavier than stock, you'll never notice once it's on.
Perfect fit, uses original hardware.

I bought this for the spark arrester
I needed a spark arrester to ride in the national forest and after reading other reviews on just the spark arrester end cap I elected to purchase the whole muffler. The Silencer fit was OK but not as good as the factories. I was however very pleased that it was quieter than the original (which I considered that to be pretty quiet) and it is larger. Overall very happy with it. Durability is yet to be seen. I have only 10 hrs. on it

Fitment was awesome. Kudos to KTM making it so easy to swap out mufflers so this can go on.

Needed a spark arrestor, this has one. Check.

The protective clear coat on the sticker peeled after one spill, big deal, still works great and that's my only complaint. Sounds good, didn't notice an increase in power over stock.

Is this the "Shorty" version?
Josh S on Jul 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, this is not the short version. Keep in mind that this is the one with the spark arrestor inside. I have this one as well as the silencer only version and I haven't noticed any loss of power with this one. Sounds great too! If you are going to be riding only on the track, buy the PowerCore2. If you are going to be doing any off-road, trails, or forest riding too, this is a great buy!
I have a pro circuit platinum pipe on my 05 yz250. Will this fit I the pro circuit pipe? Do I need any other parts for the connection between pipe and silencer?

Thanks,
Matt
Matt I on Aug 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Matt, I'm not sure if this will fit your pro circuit pie but, I have mine matched with an FMF Gnarly pipe and there is a rubber boot that seals the connection between the pipe and the silencer. My bike actually came stock with this setup and I have been very happy with it. I have recently replaced both. I hope this helps.
