nice tank

Comments On May 24, 2015:Need a new fuel line (I bought the TUSK brand bulk fuel line hose 1/4") and radiator shrouds bulge out from radiators but all in all OK...

Spend the extra and go with IMS

Comments On May 11, 2015:After having IMS tanks on my other bikes I figured I'd try it, It just seemed to be made cheap. The cap leaked all the time no matter what you did! Ill stick with IMS from now on.

more miles

Comments On Apr 20, 2015:Easy to install, fit good. Did not notice any difference's in rider comfort or "feel" of the bike! Gave me an extra 20 or so mile's before "reserve"! Nice big tank =$250.00 Walking 15 or 20 miles in "moto gear"=PRICELESS

Great tank

Comments On Apr 19, 2015:Awesome tank! Fit is perfect! Looks great , the only thing that bugged me was the fact that you can not reuse the factory fuel petcock , this new tank comes with two petcocks , and a mount kit , one petcock for each side of thank , the major thing that concerned me was the mounting of the petcocks to the tank , the mount holes had no threaded brass incerts ! They use self tapping screws, and a o-ring to seal it to tank.. No issues at all, just wish it had threaded incerts like the rest of the tank did.

Best over-sized tank we have had

Comments On Apr 14, 2015:This was actually for a CRF250X. I just drilled and tapped the frame where the R tank mounts (Honda already marked the spot). This bike has had oversized tanks from the other 2 manufacturers. Wish I had just purchased this one at the beginning, or at least as the second option. Only regret is that I let the R designation get in the way as the quick mod has it fitting the X while being the best tank of the bunch.

Requires bike emissions mod.

Comments On Mar 28, 2015:Bought the tank for an upcoming ride that might require the extra capacity. It will NOT fit without removing the emissions canister on the right side under the tank. Also, the shroud holes don't line up but you can force the shroud to fit, except for one hole.

Lousy Design

Comments On Feb 28, 2015:Maybe Acerbis has something against KTM, but from all of the good reviews I expected a lot more from this tank. The radiator shroud mounting holes do not line up with the holes in the stock plastic so you have to elongate the holes. The tank is so wide at the front that the radiator shrouds no longer contact the radiators as they were designed to do and makes the bike look like crap from the front. The handlebars hit the tank on the left and limit the turning radius on the left. Quality control and design seem to be very poor at Acerbis, but I should have realized this after my experience with one of their plastic kits. I am very disappointed with this tank and would have returned it if I had not needed the extra fuel capacity on a ride the day after I received it.
