Transformed my bike easier to ride tight sections

Comments On Sep 28, 2015:Transformed my bike easier to ride tight sections. I was afraid the bike would feel slower after installation. That doesn't appear to be the case the bike still rev's up very fast. I think it has improved wheel spin somewhat when searching for traction in sandy conditions
Pro's Easier to launch no longer have to rev the engine much on launch Doesn't flame out suddenly with no warning anymore when putting along or launching. More forgiving if riding a gear to high smoother when lugging motor.
Cons Having to epoxy this to the flywheel meant no going back after installation (Very glad i liked it)

Comments On Sep 17, 2015:OK first off I want to be clear on details since so few of these reviews says anything other than "yea great product gave more traction less stalling". I put the 13 oz. FWW on a 2010 YZ250 that has a PC exhaust 304 Silencer, V-force 3 reeds, some head work, and couple other mods. Before this mod this bike literally tried to pull your arms off. I ride 90% gnarly woods, hills, single track. It gave me arm pump like a mother. Bike stalled pretty easily and just made me tired as heck after a 5 hr day of riding. I was worried that the 13 oz may be too much weight but so far I am very content.
PROS: Easy to install/uninstall, makes the bike pull like a train just not as snappy truly does not feel like any "power loss", traction is something you will now be able to find, each gear pulls a bit longer which is great for off-road riding, stalling on tight single track isn't a problem anymore 13 oz can be turned down to a lower weight if ever desired.
CONS: Only downside is on steep hills needing to be more careful about the gear you choose. Before I would whack the clutch a bit and the power was there instantaneously. Now it can be a bit slow and I mean just a bit. The reason for this is the FWW adding work load to the engine in addition to the climb combined with the fact the bike is just plain hooking up. If you are a REALLY fast off-road guy the 13 oz may be a little more than you want.

Was a little sceptical adding a flywheel weight

Comments On Jul 21, 2015:Quite happy with the 9 0z. flywheel weight. It makes the bike fire up easier. The added weight has a little pulsing feeling just off idle but does allow the bike to chug at the lower RPM's better. I do not feel any less acceleration with the weight. In fact it seems to actually put more power to the ground than stock. Happy with the weight. With Pipe, silencer, jetting and the FW weight in really has made the YZ come alive and be a far better bike with the mod's. I was far to tame in OEM configuration.

As Advertised

Comments On Jun 05, 2015:I don't usually leave reviews but I am really impressed with this product. KX450s aren't really built for trail/single track riding, but this flywheel weight has helped my bike lug so much better in tight areas! It lets me roll over stuff and last time I was out on the single track in the mountains I had wayyyy less stalls than I had before. This was a lot cheaper option than switching to a KTM 300 which is what I was thinking of doing before I put this part on.

Easy install and perfect fit

Comments On May 14, 2015:It fits perfectly and was way easy to install. I liked how it had several fails safes so if installed correctly there is no way it can spin off. The bike seems to resist stalling at low speeds and even idles smoother. After installing it smoothed out the climb into the higher rpms. I don't get in nearly as many fights with loose gravel roads as I used to.

Better off replacing whole flywheel

Comments On Mar 22, 2015:I love Steahly products, but I am not really happy with the flywheel weight for the CRF150r. Everything I read said to be very careful that the bolts are tight and to use threadlock and then use a cold chisel to pinch the threads. After doing all of that, it still worked itself loose in about 5 hours. (The bike was making a noise that sounded like piston slap, but then I realized it was coming from the bottom end.) I pulled it out and re-tightened it, but if the problem occurs again, I will replace the whole flywheel with a complete flywheel. (I believe Trail Tech makes one.) Its simply too risky to have a flywheel weight that comes loose, and I really don't want to have to remember to pull the side case off every 5 hours to check it.
