There's not a lot you can say about aerosol spray, but this stuff is simply amazing to use when working on your bike and you want to get the parts clean. Unlike brake fluid or carb cleaner it has a rather nice smell to it. But more importantly it doesn't leave a residue and works like magic!
Been using the Maxima contact cleaner for many years and love it! Great value and excellent de-greasing/cleaning agent. Works great on fabric too to remove stains. And it smells like citrus. Best contact cleaner I've used and I was a race mechanic for 20 years.
I usually use brake cleaner for everything, but sometimes I don't want the residue left behind so I use this. It's pretty much brake cleaner without the residue. Love it.
Rather than give my money to local auto parts store for a contact cleaner, I prefer a bike brand chemical, and this one smells much better than Chemtool. No comment on taste, though
This is a fantastic product at a great price. I've tried a LOT of different contact cleaners in the past, but this is the only one I use now. I use this not only on my bikes, but on gun parts as well. Good stuff!
This is the best contact cleaner I have ever used. Cleans well and dries very fast. I would definitely recommend this cleaner to anyone. If you are looking for a great contact cleaner at a great value then buy this cleaner.
I go through about 3 cans a month of this and it is good stuff. Cleans dirt, grime, grease, etc off virtually any part of your bike. Displaces water as well.
This stuff works really well and I called rockymountainatv and they told me you can even clean the inside of the carburetor with it. But watch out and not well-ventilated areas it really stinks up places.
Does exactly what it says it will do. Its also VOC compliant. This is a great thing when using on connectors. evaporates Quickly. Cleans well. Weak smell. There is also a good amount in each bottle.
Bought a used two stroke with plenty of grime on it. I actually sprayed the grime with dawn dish soap, let it dry, then sprayed contact cleaner on it. About half of it washed off with a hose, but still needed some scrubbing. Was easy to scrub off though, product did well I thought. It helped.
Has a great smell and cleans just about everything you can think. It also works really well to put on your hands after you have air filter oil on them.
BEST ANSWER:I used to clean the disk when I put on my son's Tusk over sized rotor. I use it on everything except rubber gaskets. Use it for finally clean off before engine rebuilds and even good as lubricant when putting spark plug on.

Yes, I've used it to clean many different metal parts, including brake discs, with no problems. It doesn't leave a residue behind. And of course, great for cleaning electrical contacts as well.
I would suggest using standard rubbing alcohol and Steele wool. I have not tried maxima on brakes but i imagine it would be a decent alternative to alcohol.
