Firstgear’s Torrent Waterproof Duffel Bag comes in three sizes—25, 40, and 70 liters—of waterproof, roll-top, no-nonsense luggage that’s great if you’re the type of rider looking for simplicity and reliability. The entire body of the Torrent is made from superbly tough PVC tarpaulin fabric that is sonically welded so you won’t find any leaky seams or poor stitching that can make a bag unfit for the trail. To secure the Torrent, a series of d-rings, handles, and webbing are found around the bag and work with the included webbing straps to make the Torrent feel right at home on the back of your bike.

Nice bag
I haven't tested it yet in big rain but I have no fear of it failing. It is a well made bag at a fair price point. The tiny pocket on the side if it is almost useless but other than that a nice bag.

Good bag for the money.
I've had this bag for three years now with a couple of Death Valley trips on it and more time spent not riding that I'd care to admit ;)

The bag always performs. It's easy to operate in gloves and keeps things right in place. While I haven't water tested it (SoCal riding doesn't see much rain) I did just ride through two rather epic sandstorms with no sand intrusion into the bag. While I have some visible wear from strapping, etc. none of it has gone through the bag.

The only thing I will add is this bag has a soft bottom. I got a 1/4" plastic cutting board and cut it to size at the bottom of the bag (rounding off the corners, as well, to keep it from slicing). With that setup I can stack it on my tail rack and it holds all day. The straps it comes with are double-D nylon and are clunky, I tossed those in favor of Rok straps.

Bomber Dry Bag
I purchased this bag to hold my sleeping bag and clothing for adventure trips. After this weekends ride, I was VERY impressed with it. After riding more than 300 miles in the pouring rain, everything inside was still as dry as when i put it in there. Over all I have to say that I would get another if I need to in the future.

The only down side is the straps that come with it. They do have a tendency to loosen up over time. Get your self some piece of mind and purchase a set of rocstraps with the bag and never worry about it.

It works
My stuff stayed clean and dry after a downpour, snow, and tons of dust. The straps are terrible though. I didn't really trust them. Get some rockstraps to hold it on.

Nice bag
I have no problems with the bag. I think that the straps that are provided with the bag are a little lacking. They tend to loosen over rough ground. I ended up taping the D-rings to keep it from loosening. Otherwise the bag seems thick and durable. It's not made in the US like Wolfman and Giant loop.

length and width of 25 and 40 liter bags?
A shopper on Nov 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 25L measures 11" x 22". We did not have the 40L in stock for me to measure though.
Trying to compare this 25L bag to the MSR Explorer 25L bag. They seem identical in design, but the dimensions seem quite abit different.
First Gear 25L : 22" x 11"
MSR 25L : 18" x 10 "
Are these correct?
THOMAS F on Jun 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I own both bags, the 25L. I bought them for the back of our ATV's, but wanted different colors so I bought one of each brand. They are almost identical in length, width and height. I just measured both 18 x11. They are both of equal quality and design, you will be happy with either.
