Worth the price

Comments On Apr 23, 2015:I bought these after I had two leaky seals from grit getting under the dust seals in some dry riding conditions. They seem to work well. I've had them on for a couple of months. They are were tight to get onto my forks, but with a little patience they went on ok.
Be sure that you have enough clearance between the fork outer tube lip and the fork guard throughout the fork travel. My fork guards are a pretty tight fit and they wore a hole through my left side seal guard. I ordered another set of guards and will try to use a heat gun and coax the guard out a little for more clearance.

As advertised

Comments On Mar 16, 2015:FYI, you need to take the forks out of the triple clamp to install. Not the end of the world ... But also not a 5 minute job either. Other than that should work as advertised.

Best invesment for my forks

Comments On Feb 05, 2015:I always fold them up when I wash my bike and rinse the sand out to prevent trapping sand in them. This way it prevents unnecessary weir on the seal and the fork

very hard to install

Comments On May 21, 2014:Soaked them in hot water and still couldnt get them on. Ripped one trying to put on. Waaaay too tight and rips easily. Spend a little more and get better ones with a zipper.

Works well

Comments On Jan 25, 2014:Not the toughest product of its type. Definitely need to take it easy when installing...I put a small tear in mine. Even with the slight damage it worked well for the price but I ultimately went with a set of higher priced seal guards. Would work better and install easier on smaller forks.

Wore a hole in first ride

Comments On Nov 20, 2013:I installed these on my 2007 CRF250R forks. They seemed to slip over fine, although I did notice the seams giving at the end. They look like the thread will rip fairly soon; the threading is not great on any of the ends. After the first 30 minutes of riding on fire roads, I noticed that a hole formed where the fork guard comes close to the stanchion. I've never had a problem with the guard rubbing against the stanchions, so it seems to me that the Tusk neoprene material is fairly cheap.
I usually like Tusk products quite a bit, but I will pass on Tusk neoprene next time. These look like they'll last another hour of riding before they fall apart on the trail. As the seal guards are now, it looks like they'll trap dirt and cause more problems than they'll solve.
They're a waste of time and money! Pay the few bucks more and get the real Fork Saver guards.
