With years of experience and seasons of performance, SKF has created their Fork and Dust Seal Kit that eliminates sticking and reduces friction while still keeping your forks clean and sealed. These seals accomplish this thanks to their construction from SKF’s proprietary, self-lubricating compound that retains oil while displacing debris and contaminants. With this compound and SKF’s experience you’ll get a solid set of seals to give your suspension plenty of long-lasting performance.

      Specs:
    • Replaces dust seals and oil seals on both forks
    • Seals oil in forks
    • Keeps dust and dirt away from fork internals
    • Each kit includes 2 dust wipers/seals and 2 fork seals
    • Made from proprietary self-lubricating compound
    • Reduced friction and stick-slip

    SKF fork seals
Used these to replace fork seals on my 2014 KTM 500. The install was easy with no problems. They fit perfectly and, so far, are not leaking any oil. The instructional video on Rocky Mountain ATV/MC makes the job even easier. You need a couple specialty tools but they are basically paid for after the first seal change by the savings of doing it yourself. Highly recommended.

Is this seal kid for both forks or just one. ???
    shawn S on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: SKF outer fork and dust seal kit is for both forks, there are 2 fork seals and 2 dust seals, hope this helps.
Are these hd seals our the standard skf?
    Matt M on Nov 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm not familiar with the difference in the two but these seals are definately slick vs oem.You can feel it when you are assembling the forks. They slide noticeably better than oem.The durability of these seals are very good but again, I'm not sure if they are the heavy duty.
My fork is leaking and I need to get new seals. But after some research I'm not sure if all I need is the outer tube seal kit or is it necessary to get all new bushings and inner tub seals as well.???
    shawn S on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Shawn - you may need everything, or nothing. Here is what I would do when addressing a leaky fork seal situation: 1) use a flat blade screwdriver to get the dust seal out and slide it down the leg. insert a feeler gauge or Risk seal doctor cleaning tool and rotate it around the seal to dislodge whatever is stuck in the seal. Spray liberal amounts of WD-40 to flush out all of the grit from both the oil seal and the dust seal you pulled out, watching to not get any on your brakes. put dust seal back and add some extra oil with a syringe through your air bleed screw on the top of your fork. If this doesn't work do number 2) Order the new SKF kit with both the dust and oil seals and take them to your local dealer or suspension guy. There are special tools for this service. You can play it safe with taking them new bushings but they are not always required.

Are these 48mm fork seals? I can not seem to find that piece of information anywhere in the description.
    DONALD C on May 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The size of the seals is dependent on which machine you enter in the drop down menu. If your machine is selected, they'll match the OEM seals for that bike.
