The LS2 Pioneer Helmet is a new offering in the company’s lineup that’s made for dual-sport and adventure riders that lean more towards spirited off-road riding. And with good venting, solid ergos, and a light weight, LS2 largely succeeds while still keeping the price affordable.

The polycarb shell is made of LS2’s proprietary Kinetic Polymer Alloy that comes in 3 shell sizes and a trim 3.3 pounds weight that outclasses most other polycarb helmets. Even more impressive, that light weight includes both DOT and ECE certs and an internal drop-down sun visor that LS2 did really well, and should really put on more helmets.

Beyond that the Pioneer gets a bump up to 7 intake vents that will always be open, a visor shape that’s plenty large for comfortably wearing goggles, and a peak that’s extra flexible so it won’t crack or break on you during normal use. And with a long oval head-shape the Pioneer works for most riders with plenty of space to spare up front in the beak.
