Boyesen Pro Series dual-stage reeds combine a carbon-fiber top reed with a fiberglass bottom reed for unrivaled performance. The carbon-fiber top reed has excellent response characteristics that provides even quicker acceleration, stronger throttle response, and more over-rev than standard Power Reeds. The fiberglass bottom reed provides stability and longer reed life.
    • Pro Series dual-stage reeds produce even better throttle response right off idle and through the mid-range when compared to the traditional Power Reed setup. And like the Power Reeds, the mid is very crisp and the top just keeps pulling.
    • The most significant performance benefit of a Pro Series reed system is characterized by stating that the additional throttle response makes it easier to ride smoother and faster. To summarize the overall performance benefit to Boyesen Pro Series reeds in one word, they are simply RESPONSIVE! In this regard, improved throttle response is precisely what Boyesen Pro Series reeds deliver!
    • Designed to fit stock reed cages only.

My bike has never run this good!
I installed these in my '01 YZ250, just before my last hare scramble, and all I can say is WOW! My bike honestly has never run this good. It has so much more power, through the entire power band! Even better, it helped to smooth out the 2-stroke power surge, so the extra power is also more usable! At high speed / RPM, I'm not having any issues with reed flutter now. I can't say enough good things about these reeds! I won't ever run anything different.

    Nice fitment and quality part
The reeds seem to be a great replacement for worn out reeds. They fit up perfectly on my CR250 and the bike runs as expected. I don't think you're going to notice any real difference unless your reeds needed replacing. I wouldn't buy these just because they are a "performance" part. Simply just a good alternative to OEM replacement.

    easy install
I was doing the top end and put a set of these in just for the heck of it. Pretty simple. I've had good luck with Boyesen stuff in the past and I notice a difference in response and low end vs the stock reeds.

    Just what I needed
Simple install of quality reeds. Can tell the difference right away. The old reeds were shot. This gave new life to my RM.

I was looking for a better replacement for my reeds. I've used Boyesen reed cages before in other bikes and knew they were a quality product. I really don't have a baseline comparison, but the throttle response, as on any well jetted 2 stroke bike is crisp and clean. The Boyesen pro series reeds deliver a nice clean hit off bottom into the upper mid range, but it really kicks in when you reach the upper rpm range. This is where I noticed the biggest power gains. The Rm likes to be short shifted though and I feel I ride faster when I am riding in the middle of the power band. All in all the replacement Boyesen reeds really cleaned this bike up.

Does this come with a gasket as well? I need a gasket too for my 02 blaster.

BEST ANSWER: I don't believe so. If you order the v-force or the rad valve it does. But these are just reed pedals with stop. Great product though.
Do you need to rejet if you install these reeds on your stock cage?
    William E. M on Sep 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You shouldn't have too. I didn't and bike works great. If anything you might have to reposition the needle using the stock clips but I don't think you will have to.
In the description is says, "designed to fit stock reed cages only". What replacement reeds do I need for a Boyesen Rad Valve? model (14 x A)
    Kyle W on Nov 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Boyesen Rad Valve Replacement Reeds is part number 1692720001.
