As a relatively new offering in their jacket lineup, the Fieldsheer High Pro Textile Jacket is a 3-season (almost 4), cold-weather option that’s impressive because of how many premium features it pack into a very affordable price point. Looking at the High Pro from the outside, it’s a hip-length, American cut jacket that will work best for touring, sport touring, and some light off-road adventure riding.

The outer shell is the jacket’s most technical layer with 600 denier Carbolex-HD material giving the jacket its abrasion resistance and a removable, waterproof, breathable membrane keeping water out. There’s a good amount of zippered ventilation on the arms, chest, and back with each vent doing a good job of holding itself open. Just keep in mind that with the waterproof liner in, these vents won’t give you direct venting, so if you wear the jacket in hot summer months, do it without the liner. Moving inwards, there’s a good number of pockets, both on the jacket’s outer shell and inner liner. And combined with several interior and exterior pockets, that gives the High Pro an excellent amount of storage.

A zip-out, full-sleeved thermal liner handles insulation. CE level 1 impact armor at the elbow and shoulders handle impact protection along with an armor pocket on the back of the jacket that’s ready for a CE level protector. Finishing the jacket off, there are a number of small but significant touches that give the jacket its high-quality feel. Reflectivity is peppered on the outside of the jacket for visibility, comfortable fleece-lined collar and cuffs prevent annoying chaffing, and you even get a restraint to fold the collar back and keep it from whipping your throat if you ride with the collar open. Put everything together for only $200, and the High Pro punches well above its price range.
