Not impressed

Comments On Mar 24, 2016:I thought these would be good tires. Purchased 4 tires last summer. Already need to replace one due to sidewall failure. Found a small split in the sidewall and a soft spot inside. No sign of trauma to the tire. The tire was flat in the garage 2 days after my last ride.
They also run small. The 27" is not any taller than the 25" tires that came on the machine.

Good traction on rocks and dirt, but weak sidewall

Comments On Feb 24, 2016:THE GOOD: These tires really hook up good in rocks, sand, and hardpack. The traction on these surfaces is at least 50% better than the ITP crosses I was running before. Seemed like the perfect desert / rock crawling tire, which is what I was looking for.
THE BAD: I bought 6 of these tire in 28" size. Mounted on 7" wheels with 14 PSI and off the ground, they measured 26" inches. After about 6 months of breaking them in, they measure 26.5" at full pressure. They run very short and were pretty much the same size as my ITP 26" tires they replaced. I bought 28s for more ground clearance but am very disappointed in the small size. Also, in the first month of running these tires, I experienced 2 big sidewall tears and they happened in very easy terrain. Will go with something else that is a TRUE 28 when these wear.

Looked at several brands

Comments On Dec 11, 2015:Very happy with these tires! I went back and forth with several different brands before deciding on the Mongrel's. From rocks to dirt to sand does very well.

Soft Sidewalls

Comments On Aug 17, 2015:Just purchased these tires, took my machine out over this past weekend and blew a sidewall. These tires have weak sidewalls, not suitable for more rugged trails and rocky conditions.

Great overall utv tire

Comments On May 27, 2015:I have had these for a few months and have run them on many different kinds of terrain. They work well and definitely smoother on hard pack than stock big Horns. No wobble and seem to be well balanced doing 80+ mph.

Great all around traction and wear

Comments On Apr 12, 2015:I have not been plagued with any issues what-so-ever! These have been great all around tires performing great for me. I have trail ridden, blasted thru very rocky (dry) river beds, and run them on pavement for a quite a few miles. They survived an almost rollover incident that popped them off the bead... but with zero damage... about 200 miles on them so far with little to no wear showing. I may not be brutal on tires, but I am not easy on them either.

Damn Good Tire

Comments On Feb 13, 2015:Dang good tires, I've had them for about 6 months already and barely even notice any wear. Only downside is that they don't measure 28" when I put the psi at 10, that's what I ride on

Good tire but won't last as expected

Comments On Oct 27, 2014:On the street this tire seemed to hold up very well. Even at 75mph on the freeway they have very little vibration but after only 2 trips to the Arizona desert they now show noticeable wear. I will consider purchasing again but I will certainly look at other brands. In the defense of the tire I do have a big bore turbo rzr and a heavy right foot.
