Details

The Maxxis Coronado is the ultimate desert tire for your ATV or side-by-side. Brutal desert terrains are no match for the Coronado’s long-wearing compound, formulated for high speeds and high temperatures. The tire’s strong 8-ply rated radial carcass soaks up the shock from rocks and sand whoops for ultimate control, and ensures maximum puncture resistance in the face of thorns and sharp rocks. The Maxxis Coronado’s aggressive tread pattern extends well over the shoulder area for increased sidewall protection and features stepped lugs to provide multiple biting edges. Steering performance is maximized by a rounded front tire profile that hooks up on flat turns and stays in ruts when necessary.
  • The Coronado features an 8-ply radial carcass designed for supreme performance and longevity.
  • Tread pattern features stepped lugs and a long-wearing compound optimized for loose-over-hard desert terrains.
  • Performance-matched front and rear setup provides steering control and confidence at high speeds.
  • A smooth ride stemming from true radial construction and a center tread configuration with a high land-to-sea ratio of lugs.

Great tire for all conditions.
So I don't write many reviews but I felt that I needed to on these tires. Only have 200 miles on these tires sofar so i can not speak for the tread life just yet but they still look brand new after this weekend. We went to Windrock OHV park for their fall Jam and that is where I put all the miles on these tires. I was kinda skeptical at first about buying these tires for east coast riding because we have alot of wet and muddy conditions compared to out west. But let me tell you, I'm glad I bought these because the really hook up in everything that the Windrock trials threw at them. Everything from mud, rock, wet and muddy rock, gravel, and steep hill climbs. At no time this past weekend I felt like I needed more traction. I was more than impressed with these tires. With saying that I usually avoid the thick, nasty jello pudding mud and I'm sure that these would probably slick up in those conditions. That's not what these tires are made for. If you ride alot of mud then you need a mud specific tire. We did have alot of mud that we wasn't able to avoid on the trails and for the most part these tires cleaned out well. I definitely recommend these tires. These tires were also true to size. I would definitely buy them again.

we had an unfortunate issue with our tires... ran into some sharp rocks cutting the sidewalls. we were able to plug them up and make it home... a testament to the tire because most would just split open during that process.

I bought the maxxia Coronado 30/10/14 for my Yamaha yxz. I did the tube works gear change so I could run larger tires. I needed a tire around 30 inches tall. recieved my new tires they are only as tall as the stock big horn that are 27s. iam ordering a new set of roctanes xd I now there 30 inches.

Best tires I've had
I replaced my Bighorns with these Coronado's after I cut a sidewall in the woods. I wanted A more durable tire. They don't disappoint. Quiet smooth ride, tough 8ply carcass, great looking tread, hooks up incredibly well. Actually I'm surprised more people aren't buying Coronado's. I,m going to replace my wife's Bighorn 2.0's on her Rzr with Coronado's. Polaris is now using them on their 2017 special edition models like the XC now. I can see why.

Highly Reccommend
We purchased these tires from Rocky Mountain ATV. There pricing and service were excellent. After nearly 1000 miles of mixed riding, trails, sand, mud, and road riding, I can write an objective review. Awesome tires! They excel on gravel, general trail riding, high speed, handling and control. If there is a minor drawback, id have to say they are only marginally better than stock tires in deep sand and nasty mud. Not a bad thing however, they are still better in the sticky and soft stuff than the stock tires. Having said that, the positives outweigh any nitpicky drawbacks for sure. The confidence that I have driving deep in the woods with a tough 8 ply tire is most reassuring. I know that it will bring me back home. I Highly recommend this premium tire!!!

Great tires
We just love our maxis Coronado tires. They make for a softer ride when riding on the road that has rough ashfalt. We put them on our an arctic cat 1000 we just bought and boy can they grab when riding up a hill of rocks !!

I would recommend these UTV tires to anyone out there that want a good ride but still can pull yourself out of a sticky situation !!

Great Tire
I have been looking at some tires to replace the STI Roctane 30x10x14 tires on my XP 1000. The Roctanes work really well in most all traction situations, but they are really heavy at 40lbs, and they don't handle all that well during really spirited driving....ie they don't corner all that well. I was looking for a rugged and light tire of approximately the same size as the Roctanes. Then I saw these on the Guntiers car that won the King of Hammers race. They are relatively light at 33.5lbs, and are 29.25 inches tall. They hook up really well in everything I have tried them in...seem very strong...and best of all, they accelerate much better and handle much better than the Roctanes. Overall, I have had these about a month, and really like them.

Disapointed
I recently purchased a set of four Maxxis Coronado tires for my RZR. The front tires are 27X9X14 and they are mounted on 6 inch wide rims. The rears are 27X11X14 mounted on 8 inch wide rims. The fronts are inflated to 10 PSI and rears are inflated to 12 PSI.

I am disappointed that these 27 inch tires stand only 26 inches high in the front and 25.5 inches high in the rear. I did not get the additional ground clearance I was looking for.

GREAT for the desert
Purchased these for the terrain we ride in the most, the desert in northern and central Nevada: rocky trails, high-speed runs over the trails or playa, scrambling up loose rocky hilsides.

The Coronados have been extremely durable, and their high speed characteristics are superb. Excellent directional stability and steering feedback. The tires are a lot less "rough" than BigHorns or Anclas when riding fast on smooth surfaces, like groomed gravel roads and playa.

The big problem for other tires has been sharp rocks, these Coronados handle the dragons teeth with aplomb.

The tires are only so-so when in very loose material or mud, a decent tradeoff here in the desert.

It's as if all the good characteristics of the BajaCross (durability and high-speed manners) were combined with the great tire quality of Maxxis. A home run!

Is this tire DOT approved?
A shopper on Aug 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Well I don't know about that these are off road tires so the dot does not need to be involved there not for hi way use but they are a radial tire so they wear good on pavement they're awesome couldn't be happier with my set on my Honda rancher
Do these run true to size was looking at 27x11-14. So is this tire really 27 inches tall?
JEFFREY R on May 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I did not measure the tire. But tire fit was fine and appears to be same as the Maxxis on the right side.
