Details

  • Radial tire construction offers a plush ride, absorbing jarring feedback from rocks, roots, braking bumps and other obstacles.
  • Larger contact patch than a bias ply tire keeps more rubber on the ground for greater traction
  • Interlocking "C" design keeps the center tread rolling smooth over hard pack, while more aggressive shoulder knobs provide extra bite.
  • Non-directional utility tread pattern and 6-ply rated construction.

Tire Date Codes
I am unable to review the tires, because I returned the tires. There was no problems returning the tires. Staff was very helpful and returning was easy. I returned the tires because of the date code. The tires where old 27x9-12 dates 2312, 2316 / 27x11-12 dates 2912. The tread was new, but I did not like the date codes. If I could get the tires with the newer 2316 dates I would buy them right now. I called and they said they could not dig thru the tires or guarantee the newer dates. I wish they could find me tires with newer dates and offer the tires to me.

27" on Kawasaki Teryx
Much better than stock tires. Good traction all around. I had to put chains on my old stock tires for plowing snow. Not these new tires. Plowed great this winter. Several hunting trips and no flats. Great value tire

Fantastic tire
I've had a lot of different tires over the years and the truth about tires is that there is no perfect tire, not even a perfect "do-it-all" tire. There are differences in tread design, ply thickness and rubber compound just to mention a few. The stand out feature of this tire is the rubber compound. The tread is great and grips well but the rubber compound just flexes so nicely and tracks very predictably. At 5 PSI on my 2016 Brute Force 750 the tire measures right at 25.5" and in case you didn't know thats actually taller than 90% of the tires out there that are labeled 26". Also the rim guard is very deep and the tire bulges out past the wheel giving it a fantastic look. I avoid mud like the plague and ride mostly hardpack trails and these give me an extra bit of ground clearance but are still light enough not to noticeably rob any power. CST is made by Maxxis Tires and another thing I noticed was that there was zero vibration at speed which is also very rare. I'll sum it up with some pros and cons:
Pros:
-Great flexible rubber compound, as opposed to tougher rubber that may last a long time but doesn't perform NEAR as well
-Deep wheel guard and thick sidewall
-Taller than most tires in the same size
-Superior build quality which is shown in zero vibration as speed
Cons:
-More expensive than most
-Softer tread performs very well but may not last as long as some

Summary: This is the only review I've written on Atv tires and I felt compelled to do so based on how many strong points this tire possesses. I've owned Sedona Mud Rebel R/T, STI Black Diamond XTR, Kenda Bear Claw HTR, Maxxis Bighorn 2.0, ITP Terra Cross, Sedona RipSaw R/T just to name a few and the CST Clincher would probably make my top 5 tires based on how I ride. Sorry for the lengthy review, just trying to save someone some time and effort.

Terrible tires
These tires are only a 4 ply tread and only a 2 ply sidewall. I wanted a true 6 ply tire. I bought 4 of them and Rocky Mountain would not take them back even though their website had falsely advertised them as 6 ply. So i put them on and 2 tires got flats within about 50 miles of mild riding. So i am going to pull them off and throw them all away and buy some real tires. Maxxis... MANUFACTURER NOTE: TIRES ARE 6-PLY RATED AND DO NOT NECESSARILY REFLECT THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF PLIES USED TO PRODUCE A TIRE.

CTS Clinchers great ride and handling
Installed a bundle package of CTS Clinchers 27x9x12 and STI Alloy wheels from Rocky Mountain ATV at a good price. Put the same size all around and did install a Racer Tech 2" lift & spring kit. Wow what a difference in the ride and handling! The Clinchers ride smother and handle great. Very little rear end washout in the corners and they preformed good in the rocks and water crossings too. The tires and wheels also look great. The customer service is always great at Rocky Mountain ATV thanks.. Clinchers radials are such an improvement over stock tires you won't be sorry, note the compound seems a little soft but time will tell if they last a couple seasons I'll be happy. Thanks RM

100 times better then stock 489's
5 star so far(only 50 miles on them). They have done great on hard pack/decomposed granite forest roads, snow and mud. Turn is much easier then with the stock 489's. Good price and fast shipping, ordered on Thursday at 4:45pm and had them by Sat. morning.

Thinking about putting 9" all the way around a Honda Pioneer 700? i don't mud ride just need something a lot better than stock crappy tires that puncture easy. what do you recommend.
A shopper on May 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I searched for an all around radial that also absorbs rocks and roots. I ran Mud lites on our ATVs for years, but we don't hit much mud anymore. These tires have done a great job in all terrain conditions we ride, hard pack, light mud, snow, rocky slow trails. We have put almost 1000 miles on them and they show very little wear. I would recommend. I was a tough decision with all the choices out there, but in the end, they have exceeded my expectations. Rocky Mountain ATV also has a good video review on UTV tires whice helped me as well.

Good luck!
I have a 2007 ranger 700 xp that I just bought and I am looking for a set of tires to run mainly on the street for snow removal and some mud. What would you recommend for this and what size ?
jeff p on Dec 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I purchased a set of CTS Clinchers with wheel package from RM-ATV for my 2010 RZR 800S but putting on all the same size F&R! And a little taller, tech support will set you up with good recommendations and items needed. WOW what a difference it made with the radials on hard pack roads and mud even rocks. The performance seems to be great no more rear end washout and they ride and grip well.
What's the weight for the 26 9 12, the 27 11 12, vs the 27 9 12, and the 27 11 12? Also wondering how these wear? We ride a lot of trails and a lot of backroads and I was just wondering how these would hold up on pavement.
BRANDON D on Mar 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not sure on the weight, but I ride a lot of pavement & im very satisfied with the wear. It is very minimal.
my stock rzr 900 is a 2016 with 26x8r12 all your 26" and 27" tires are 9" wide will that fit my front without rubbing?
sam t on Nov 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You should not have any problem with rubbing, but you'll want to check the clearance on your machine to make sure it won't rub on any suspension components with the extra 1/2" width on the inside of the machine.
