Very good cranking in summer, little bad in winter

Comments On Jul 08, 2015:I bought this for gncc's dead engine start. works super good... but not as 24 volts system though. It is light and compact. no best option for winter start (canada cold winter), because it crank really hard, but not as long as standard batterie

Lightweight and gets the job done

Comments On Apr 09, 2015:Bought this for the weight savings to help my tank WR. I've had the battery for about 3 years now with no problems.

WOW - it looks liek a toy.

Comments On Mar 13, 2015:It weighs almost nothing, it looks like a toy and yet fires the bike quick regardless of how long it's been sitting. These are pricy little batteries but I think I am hooked !

Great Battery

Comments On Feb 24, 2015:Battery is worth the extra money and last for a very long time. I have been using the same battery for over 18 months. It is very light compared to standard batteries.

3rd and last Shorai for awhile

Comments On Jan 26, 2015:Lots of great reviews here. This is my 3rd battery. First one lasted 18 months, and the second, 2 months. This one is not able to hold a charge in 2 weeks. Using their charger, instructions, and voltage monitoring with a Fluke multimeter, shows a quick loss from the 14.4 original volts when new. I'm going to an AGM battery for cold starts and more cranking power. Shorai CCA ratings are optimistic at best. I'll keep the charger if the Shorai ever improves to match it's marketing claims.

Nearly 1 yr later - So far so good

Comments On Feb 08, 2015:The thing cranks well, stays charged with no maintenance, and saves a bunch of weight. I'm happy with it so far. If it goes bad or comes apart as some reviewers claim, I'll change my opinion. For now - so far, so good, I really like it.

Chronic power loss issues

Comments On Jan 26, 2015:I'm on my third battery in 2 years. The current battery is 2 weeks old and losing it's charge daily. I checked my power output, volt leakage, and accessory demand. All checked out okay with a Fluke multimeter. Despite advertising claims, Shorai is a low output CCA battery on cold days and with total CCA for starter requirements. I thought the Shorai charger would help maintain it, but it hasn't helped. The weight savings is great, but I need a dependable power source and for now- Shorai doesn't make one.

Amazing cranking power!

Comments On Jan 30, 2015:With 20 hours on the stock battery on my 2014 KTM 350XC-F I already fear starter failure due to the stock battery. That is not comforting while not having a kick starter for back-up on this bike. I have trickle charged this battery between rides as well.
I now have the Shorai and it makes the starter jump right out of the bike. It literally cranks twice as fast as stock. Stock CCA (cold cranking amps) is rated at 81, and the Shorai is at 210 CCA amps, which is underrated in my opinion. While holding down the starter button with the stock battery the cranking speed slows extremely fast. The Shorai cranking speed holds fast and strong with no sign of slowing down.
Get a Shorai and never get stuck bump starting your bike!

Love Shorai Batteries

Comments On Jan 15, 2015:Have been using these on all my street bikes. Absoleutely love them. Bought this for my KTM and has no problem starting anymore when real cold. Also been using these on my S1000RR & 1098, after bikes have been sitting for months the big v-twin still starts right up. A pain to buy a seperate charger for them, but I have literally never used the charger. As long as you ride the bike once every couple months (even in cold months), you'll never have to charge it. So so much lighter then stock and comes with PLENTY of foam to make the battery fix snug.
