Worth every penny!
Used this kit to repair one of my oil drain plugs. It would drip oil slowly over time because the threads were stripped. I used this kit to repair it, haven't had any issues since. It has held up great over time and definitely a quick fix to my problem. Would highly recommend!

Butt Saver
Having this in your toolbox will save your behind more times than you will recall. Especially when you work on bikes several people have put their hands on they inevitably have stripped threads.

Stripped or Stronger
Air craft mechanics Heli coil everything! So when I bought a bike with stripped engine case bolt holes I chose to drive them out and use this kit. Worked perfectly.

Buy it !!! You wont find a better kit for a better price !!
I bought this kit because all the other ones were at a higher price . I used it to fix a stripped threads on my sons 2006 Honda CRF 250x water pump bolt. The kit came with everything no need to buy a extra special drill bit . The kit worked great fixed the issue in about 10 min. If you don't have one of these kits you should buy one because at some point you will strip the threads on your bike .

kit was perfect for fixing stripped holes in my aluminum subframe. and at less than half the price of a comparable helicoil kit. the only way this kit could be better is if it came with a tap handle, and a tube of loc-tite. (perfectly understandable to omit tools every decent mechanic should have, any way to keep the price down, but I didn't have my handle and had to power tap the hole *Scary!*)

Make those threads like new again!
Great kit to repair stripped aluminum threads. Every thing you need (except a drill) is included. It takes a steady hand and a small leap of faith to start drilling into aluminum cases. Just line it up straight and you'll be fine. When installing inserts that don't go the way through (like cases), just use a blast of compressed air and the loose tang blows right back out.

I have a few bikes acquired from folks who didn't evidently didn't own torque wrenches, I bought this to take care of the bolts that kept on turning. It fixed the leaky side, oil filter and oil pump covers quickly, safely, and (so far) permanently.

I'm planning on using this to fix my left side oil drain plug on a 2007 yz450f, and I'm wondering if you can break the tab off by pulling it with needle nose pliers or something? I'm afraid to push it with a screw driver and force the tab to fall back into the engine. Thanks!
:-)
KELLY S on Jan 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: A valid concern, I found it best to use an small angled pick to pull the tab toward you to break It off, that way it is moving out away from the engine crankcase. Others things to consider to help prevent getting metal chips in the engine during the repair are to go slow with the drill, pack the cutting threads of the tap with grease to catch the cuttings, and if possible put some transmission assembly lube (special grease for automotive applications) as far down into the repaired hole as possible to catch the tang that you break off before it falls into the crankcase and allow you to fish it out. The assembly lube will dissolve in the oil and not harm anything until the next oil change.
Is the tap a bottoming tap?
A shopper on Oct 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, it's a plug tap. The tap is only used for about 1/4 inch into the oversized drill hole so you can set the small threaded segments into it, so, for almost all applications where this would be used, a bottoming tap shouldn't be necessary.
I have a stripped drain plug bolt on a 2004 Honda CR 125. What size repair thread kit do need in order to fix it?
Lucas C on Dec 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: M not really sure, that's a pretty big diameter thread. Your best bet would be to call your local dealer to find out the actual thread size then go from there.
I need to rethread the insert where the subframe bolts onto the frame for a 2005 yz250. what size inserts do i need???
Aaron C on Jan 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you search online for in the user manual and look under torque specs they always have the bolt size.. Fyi, i have a 05 yz125 and as long as it is right side, you can put a nut on it temporarily. Other side a nut would get in way of chain.
I have a limited amount of wall. what size is the drill for the 5mm kit?
JIM S on May 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Jim, on the back of card with kits shows for three size of threads.
M5 x 0.8 uses Drill size 5.2mm
M6 X 1.0 uses Drill size 6.3mm
M8 x 1.25 uses Drill size 8.4mm
Hope this helps.
Are the inserts 1 dia. deep or 1.5 dia.? I need the 1.5 dia.

BEST ANSWER: They are about 1mm longer than the size (6mm insert is 7mm long). I've had success using two, one after the other, in places that require more depth. You can grind off the excess length.
