Heavy duty gas can that should hold up to some abuse.
Heavy duty gas can. Haven’t had it long enough to see if it’s going to hold up, but it feels like it should. Now I don’t need to be as concerned about where the gas stations are and how far I’ve ridden.

Must have if you ride all day like I do
Have been using for a year now and zero issues. I don't ever bleed it and I don't overfill past recommended. Great for when you need it.

My personal theory is don't mount this on the outside of your cage where a rock could puncture it if rolled etc. Mines mounted under my tusk rear roll cage. Lessens chance of a tree branch jabbing it .

Sets the bar for gas cans....
Rotopax gas cans actually rate themselves. No one makes an all-purpose gas container that does not leak no matter how you mount it. This particular size (the one gallon can) is about right for adding range without weighing too much. It also is not too big or too heavy for simply strapping onto the rear rack sideways - under my normal gear bag. It has already seen some serious off road, rocky, washed out track and not leaked or detracted from balance.

    Rotopax is awesome
The Rotopax fuel tank is a perfect compact way to store and carry extra gas for the long haul. If I never use it still worth the piece of mind. The lock system is nice while traversing the urban landscape. You know your fuel will be safe and secure.

Is it okay to strap a duffle bag on top of a rotopax? The Rotopax would be mounted on a Skaggs big rack and the duffle would contain stuff like my tent, sleeping bag etc.
    Gary O on Mar 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Gary, I have the same setup as you do , with the scaggs rack & rotopax. I have secured packs ontop of the rotopax numerous times on all day rides, trail rides and enduros and have never had an issue. The rotopax is strong and sturdy and has never leaked. I believe I have more than put it through its paces with items strapped ontop with no issues, I don't see why you couldn't do the same. Just be sure your stuff is secure. The rotopax has come in handy many a times. Hope this helps and answers your question

How do you mount a two gallon rotopax to a 2016 Polaris Sportsman 500 rear rack?
    Sir H on Oct 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You will probably have to bungee it down or get one of the brackets that rotopax makes and screw the bracket onto the rack, unfortanatly rotopax does not make a Polaris lock and ride mount
I want to stack 2 two gallon on top of each other and lock them down. will the pack mount do that ?
    A shopper on Nov 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I personally don't know I purchased a 3 gallon RotopaX and carry it with me in the mountains. Never ran out of fuel but friends have and sometimes you get to be the hero. love the products. And Rocky mountain is awesome
Can u stack 2 1gallons with the extension?
    A shopper on Aug 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can. Be aware that there are different extensions for the different size Rotopax containers. If you are stacking 2 1 gallon containers make sure you buy the 1 gallon extension.
Hello, can these fuel packs be mounted flat, will the leak or does the nozzle have to be pointed up? Basically I want to strap it down to the rack on a quad.
    terry t on Apr 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: the fuel packs are a great way to pack extra fuel. they do not leak. if you get the cap tight they wont leak a drop. Now with that said be ready for a little expansion from the heat of the day. I did find the cap a little tough to get loose as the pack expands and the cap gets REAL tight, the pack will swell up and it is a little hard to get it free from the mounts too. I built my mounts just like the Rotopax ones as the Rotopax mounts are a little spendy. All in all they are the way to go. My son has the same system as I do and they will lay down in the rack just fine and don't take up much room. where we go we test every thing to its MAX if we can break it we will, our trips are not for the weak at heart. Don N.
Why do they not make the Roto pac in different colors the red clashes with my color scheme?
    A shopper on Jun 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's an industry standard, may even be a law:

    Gasoline (flammable) in Red
    Kerosene in Blue
    Diesel in Yellow
    Oil (combustible) in Green
will it mount on a 2014 viperxte?
    A shopper on Feb 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure what a "viperxte" is (the Dodge?), but if you have a flat spot to bolt the pack mount with enough clearance, or on a ROP bar, or as in my case a rear tube bumper, then the answer is yes. The filler tube seals extraordinarily well, so it does not need to be perfectly level. If mounting on sheet metal, I recommend a backer plate, or I used serrated clamp saddles and carriage bolts with nylock nuts. I also used a piece of 1/4" dense rubber to minimize vibration and give more slippage resistance.

I have a 2007 can am Outlander 450, what bracket system do I use to mount the fuel pack to the rack?
    A shopper on Oct 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I bought the rotopaX lox mount and mounted it on a custom plate I made (I'm a machinist) to attach it to my rear rack on my yamaha grizzly 700. Their are available verticle plate but I'm not sure how you'd be able to incorperate it on your Can Am. I will say that the tank and LOX mount work very well. At the cost of the tank, I'd hate for someone to walk up just unscrew it and walk away.
I just purchased a 3.5 gallon, and found it to be way to big, I have a 2012 Polaris 500 and want something that will fit on the front rack with rack extenders, 2 gallon maybe? thank you!
    jeremy b on Jul 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The 3.5 gallon maybe a little big for the front rack of your Polaris. My father in law has a Polaris and found the 2 gallon to be just right. Good luck.
Jack M. What mounts would work on a CAN-AM ROLL CAGE for the RotopaX fuel pack?
    Jack M on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I used serrated clamp saddles with four carriage bolts, 1/4 x 2 1/2 with Nylox nuts. The length can vary for the tube size.
What’s the size of the 2 gallon?
    JASON S on Sep 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 17 1/2 inches wide by 13 inches tall by 3 inches thick
I have a 2018 honda pioneer 700 deluxe, like the two gallon size, what kind of mount do I want for front wall of dump box?
    A shopper on Feb 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The flush mount (normal) one would work great. If you may want two containers now is the time to consider the pack mount extension as well. I think the two gallon (and a pair if needed) is the way to go. The larger ones are harder to hold and pour in some of the environments we get in!
I plan on mounting a 4 gallon on the underside of my Tusk cargo rack. Will I need to use 2 rotopax mounts through the outside mounting holes or will 1 mount through the center hole work?
    Raymond H on Nov 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Ray, you'll need 2 wherever you mount the 4 gallon, I gave up on the limitations of the mounts and use Envisioned velco staps with buckles; all problems solved. If you, because of the days load, need to move them, no challenge to face. The gas packs work great by the way.
How would I mount a 3.5 fuelpax on my ODEs 800 dominator ?
    A shopper on Jan 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Axis Alloys has a great mount that they have designed for the RotopaX check them out bought two thy work great. Pricey but you get what you pay for with this mount. Mounted mine to the roll cage.
Will a 1.75 gallon tank fit in between tusk panniers racks and a ktm 1090 adv r?
    Philip j on Jul 30, 2018
