Excellent tire. 120 fits the wr

Comments On Mar 19, 2015:This tire lasts longer than any other tire I have ridden. I Trail ride single track, quad and dirt roads, also on occasion cut trail. Shasta Dam and other Nor Cal areas. Mostly hard surface and some very rocky stuff. This thing takes a beating and performs very good on all surfaces and the hill climbs. Ive used the Scorpion (boooo) and the IRC and the Maxxis Dessert IT is hands down a better performing tire and with its superior durability is certainly more economic! Ride on !!

Hooks up great ill give it that

Comments On Mar 09, 2015:Tire hooks up good in softer stuff but just wears out way to stinking fast! Not even 200 miles on the thing and its chunked out beyond belief and the lugs that haven't been thrown off have mushroomed almost flat. I was expecting more out of it for how stiff the thing was. Oh well time to try another tire!

Baja Tested Great Tire

Comments On Mar 15, 2015:I bought this tire for a trip down to Baja and it performed great. We rode 1,200 miles, 80% offroad, through all kinds of terrain such a as sand, rocks, gravel, hardpack, creek crossings, shale, and slab. This tire did great and I can honestly say that I won't be purchasing another brand of tire for a while. These tires hook up and are super durable. This tire still has another 400 miles atleast to go on it, I commuted to work on it 2 days after I got back from Baja. Typical pressure I ran it at was 15 psi but I would bet you could take it down to 9 psi with a rim lock. On the street I brought it up to 30 psi. These tires have NO traction on the street, especially when braking, when they are brand new so be careful. I also have these tires on my CR250R and they work great on this bike too.

best tire made for desert

Comments On Oct 06, 2014:Hands down the best tire made for the Rocky Sandy desert of so cal and Arizona. Many hard miles with very little tire wear. And the only tire to hold up to the torque of my xr650r without chunking or losing knobbies.

Additional Comments On Feb 01, 2015:Bought this for a honda xr650 that is only used on dirt in southern cal desert. Lots of rock and sand loose and hard packed. Glad to say tire has held up very well. Never any chunking at all. After a year of abuse its time for another and not hesitating at all to go with the maxxis desert IT again.

Wears like iron.

Comments On Dec 30, 2014:I ride these tires in theSoCal desert where getting knobs ripped off is commonplace. About 200 miles in, these tires barely look worn in. They grip nice, are stable and predictable. If and when they finally wear down, I'll be replacing them with the same.
Of Course, they are Maxxis tires, so they can be challenging to put on a wheel, lol. Luckily knuckle skin grown back!
