  • Geomax AT81 rear tire carcass features two nylon plies.
  • Front tire construction includes two plies of nylon wrapped with a third ply of polyester for a strong base.
  • Lateral grooves on the shoulder knobs provide additional biting edges and also allow the knobs to be more flexible.

Great Tire!

Comments On Feb 04, 2016:I ride trails and single track, not motocross. The AT81s gave a very compliant ride and absorbed hits without deflection better than any tire I have used. It also offered great traction in mud and ever snow banks I had to ride through. The only downside it they wear quickly. I recommend them!

Well Balanced tire (front)

Comments On Feb 01, 2016:Is this the best gripping tire? No, but is really good. Is this the longest lasting tire? No, but it lasts better than most. However, this is the best balance of performance and durability that I have found. tire performs well in all conditions.

Great front, horrible rear

Comments On Oct 13, 2015:I knew this tire would not last the minute I unpacked it. The center knobby is so small the contact patch has to be 1"x1". After my first ride I saw significant wear. After 3 rides I had already written off this tire. I ride in AZ where we have a lot of rocks and decomposed granite. This tire may be ok on soft loamy dirt on a track, but not in the desert! Going back to Pirelli.

Additional Comments On Jan 31, 2016:I burnt through the rear in no time at all here in AZ. A lot of rocks shredded this rear AT81. The front however seemed to last forever. Just purchased another one after getting over 1000 miles on the first one. Hard to believe I know. May just be my riding style.

Front washes out unpredictably. Get an s12 instead

Comments On Dec 21, 2015:In short, this is the tire that came stock on my ktm. I am replacing it after 10 hours with a Michelin s12. The knobs look like new, no wear, because they don't grip! The rear is not as critical, but also slides around when turning. The front is unusable for most of what I ride in Michigan. I am paying to replace a brand new tire. I will never buy a Dunlop tire again.

East Coast tire?

Comments On Nov 30, 2015:I believe this tire is best suited for East Coast dirt. The knobs are to far apart and the rubber compound is of the high durability long lasting type which makes it greasy for the rocky more dry West Coast terrain. It is best for soft and muddy dirt.

Great Tire

Comments On Nov 09, 2015:The front tire is nearly the same tread design as the old 756. I liked the change to mx51 when it replaced the 756 and really like the mx52.
Having said that, for off road, these are the best in my area of mixed terrain. The rear tire has a soft carcass that makes it ride smoother than a MX tire and hook up very well. The compounds in these tires are also better suited for off road than an MX tire. If there is not many rocks, the mx52 front is also amazing.

Fair Tire

Comments On Oct 26, 2015:I got an 18 inch rear wheel for my RMZ 450 and this was the first tire I mounted. The first race I ran the tire in, a dry, sandy harecramble, I thought the tire did well. The next week I raced a muddy, rocky race in Virginia, with the same result. After that race, the performance has been in a steady decline. This tire just finished its fifth race, and its done. Overall I was impressed with it's performance, but to me it's longevity is holding it back, especially as expensive as it is.

decent straight line traction, but cant turn.

Comments On Oct 29, 2015:The front was poor in the corners. There is a large distance between the center row and the corner knobs and this equals a sudden wash of the front end once you lean over far enough.
The rear tire just has poor traction.

No regrets

Comments On Nov 02, 2015:Great tire, 45 miles of good rocky root harescramble racing and it still looks great. Looks like I am going back to Dunlop after using Vee's since 1997.

Traction for days

Comments On Oct 19, 2015:Man, I love this rear tire. I live in Alabama and ride rocky technical single track. These tires are fantastic. They provide great traction, life and no chunking. I typically run 10-12 psi with heavy duty tubes depending on the pace and how rocky the terrain is.
