The tire isn't bad for a DS tire

Comments On Jan 04, 2016:It has pretty good road characteristics, and performs alright off-road too. It's not a total trail tire, but it will get you by.

Great Tire

Comments On Oct 13, 2015:Now on my 4th set. Probably didn't need to change the front every time, but figured while I was at it... . For me, this tire has performed great with everything I've thrown at it. They're on a KLR 650, so there is not a lot of aggressive off road riding, but for everything from trails to interstate they do great. I've tried several other brands and styles of DOT knobbys and these are my favorite. The one downside is I get less than 4000 miles out of a set.

Comments On Jul 31, 2015:It lasted a week in Death Valley so that has to say something for the tire itself especially on the KTM doing a burnout 50% of the time riding .

Sand, mud, street and freeway!

Comments On Apr 16, 2015:On my DR650 I need an around tire for the off road and street work I require. On a 5 day trip to Mesquite NV, I road the mud of the Virgin river, sandy washes, the streets around town and the freeway to Bunkerville. Much of the off road is deep sand and thick gravel. The sand is not fun on a heavy bike like the DR but the T 63 gets you in and back out, same with the deep mud! The tire is fine on the streets around town and the noise in par with any other knobbie type tire. Longevity at this point is unknown but with 500 miles so far, I have not seen any chunking, fast or odd wear patterns. I'd guess its will go 3k like most knobbies on a heavy dual sport bike.

Excellent dual sport tire for the cost

Comments On Dec 24, 2014:Swapped this rear onto my 690R and went on a very muddy trail ride. Ground as saturated as it could be and these really hooked up even under alot of power. Was very impressed, also held their own on the road.

Pretty good tire.

Comments On Sep 24, 2014:Other reviewers have been pretty hard on this tire. I've used it as a front on about every terrain and road imaginable. It does well on everything except mud. It's surprisingly tenacious on tarmac with a big warning that you shouldn't push it much harder. It's not a racing or super high performance tire, It's a traveling tire. Even Michelin calls it 50/50. It's probably the best 50/50 out there for dirt. It tracks well on coarse sand covered roads, better than any other 50/50 I've used, the others want to constantly hunt and weave. I'll get about 3,500 miles from the front on my KTM 640. It probably would have gone to 4k if I had flipped it over at 2k. I just ordered a replacement.

not very impressive

Comments On Sep 10, 2014:I bought these in the stock sizing for my bike, but they are smaller than the stocker tires.

I don't know about these other reviews.

Comments On Aug 12, 2014:My review for this tire is that it is more of a dirt tire. I found that it had good traction when I was trekking up this rocky rooty dirt hill that was pretty steep. I had it newly installed and it was well scrubbed in and I hit this hill and took charge of it. The terrain of this hill consisted of some baseball sized rocks and then golf ball sized rocks spread out amongst it. There were roots closer to the top of this hill. This was something of a ATV trail and those were on one rut of the trail while we had leaves in the other rut. There were four of us and I was the only to make it all the way up this hill without any help. Not trying to brag on myself but only of this tire. I will admit that the tread does not last long when used on road more often than dirt (obviously) but I love it enough to buy it again and who can argue with that price? I'd give a 5 star if it lasted longer. Couldn't tell you how many miles but I will tell you that it will be about 6-9 months with pretty often riding and that depends on what I think of the tire when it gets close to changing time. I tend to ride until I cannot ride anymore and then change the tire. What can I say? I ride a KLR.

Poor Choice

Comments On Jul 23, 2014:Thought I'd give the T63 a try. This has been the least impressive tire I've used on the DRZ. I expected MIchelin to be much better. Traction off road is the biggest complaint. Tire wear has also been much fasted than I had hoped. You can make a better choice than this one.

Not Happy with this tire

Comments On Jun 02, 2014:This is probably the least impressed I've ever been with a tire. Absolutely horrible traction off road! Weather braking or accelerating, the rear will instantly give out and slip to the side. It's almost to the point of being dangerous. I've used it on rooty/rocky single track, two-track fire roads, in the desert, and it doesn't seem to work well in any type of terrain except pavement. The only reason I gave this tire two stars is because it does not seem to wear fast. That's the only good thing I can say about it.
