Inspect and check tire pressure often. This is the most important tire-maintenance function you can perform. Refer to your machine's documentation for proper maintenance. Always give tires a gentle "run-in" period of 100 miles to get the feel of new tires--this means they should not be subjected to maximum power, abrupt lean-over, hard cornering, etc. Always match the front and rear tires for optimal handling, safety and performance. Mixing radials, or mixing radials with bias or belted-bias tires, may adversely affect handling and stability.

The charts and information on this page do not imply interchangeability. Consult your machine's manual to determine correct replacements, clearances, compatibility and stability, load-bearing capacity, speed rating, radial vs. non-radial, pattern and tread compound requirements, inflation recommendations and front-to-rear tire matching. Wrong selection can result in tire failure or loss of control with serious injury or death.

  • Avon Distanzia motorcycle tires feature an advanced tread pattern designed for on/offroad applications.
  • Avon motorcycle tires designed for larger capacity dual sport motorcycles.
  • Avon radial constructions in select motorcycle tire sizes, bias ply construction in remaining motorcycle tire sizes.
  • High-mileage Avon motorcycle tire compound for long distance motorcycle touring.
  • Tubeless.

Vary Impressed!

Comments On Mar 31, 2015:I got these tires from RMATV a week before my solo trip to Moab to ride the White Rim Trail. I didn't realize how bad the sand was going to be and I thought I would not make it. These tires were incredible! I was in sand about to my chain (think of Powdered Sugar) and had to make it up a river bank. I was going a little slow and thought for sure I was going to drop but after a pull on the throttle I made it up no problem. 100 miles of rock, pebbles, ruts, steps, sand and a couple nasty climbs then a 250 mile run home, I am nothing but happy with the tire. Not an issue, the tires performed great. Just my 2 cents, Hope it helps

Surprisingly dry conditions

Comments On Jan 20, 2015:Although these tires don't look very burly, they are surprisingly competent on just about any dry terrain. Compared to OEM semi-knob tires on KLR the Distanzia feels more grippy, even on loose gravel. They are no good once things get wet, as you would expect from looking at them. One other thing to note... these tires seem REALLY heavy compared to others used.

Rides well, Handles well.

Comments On Dec 20, 2011:I put this tire on my 1993 DR350S after burning up several dual sport tires that were more aimed to dirt riding. I have a few MX bikes, so I gave up on the dual sport part of this bike and made it more Supermotard to have better street manners. After riding a whole season on the tires, it show very little wear. The Distanzia grips well on my light machine and handles very well! I don't do much rain riding, so it's not fair to make any comments on that. I would recommend this tire to anyone looking to put a street tire on a dual purpose bike - the difference in the curves will amaze you!
