Some things better, some worse

Comments On May 18, 2015:I have put 151,000 miles on Michelin tires since I bought the GS in 2003. T-66's came stock and I went with Anakee's, Anakee2's and now the Anakee3. In my experience, this latest Anakee has some features that are better than the first two Anakee's, and some that are worse. Traction in both wet an dry are similar, with the Anakee2's being the best in my opinion. I always used the V-rated tires in all three models, and found that the Anakee3 has the best traction over tar snakes, especially in wet conditions. Mileage was about 20% better with the first one getting over 12,500 miles before it got down to the wear bands. The one issue that I don't like is the harmonic noise that you get between 35 and 45 miles per hour. It is the worst when the tire is new and goes away a little at a time until about 6000 miles when it seemed to be mostly gone. I have about 1500 miles on my latest tire and it seems to be doing it about the same. I know that it is a little more aggressive than the Anakee2 and is much better on dirt roads, with mud and sand performance being about the same in all three tires. I will probably replace the front with an Anakee3 when the time comes since I believe in running the same tire brand/model front and rear.
