Don't skimp on tires...one accident will do more damage than money saved
I use these on my KTM 1190 even though I am on street 50% of the time and there are likely better tires for the street. Never-the-less, on street I may accelerate hard, corner in dry weather fairly aggressive and hit some high speeds and they perform just fine. My real concern is dirt.

It's a big bike and I thrash the thing pretty well even though I am not that big and strong. Since I am not that big and strong, I wanted the lower version 1190 (Standard) and immediately changed the tires to TKC 80's. I wanted as much traction as possible in the dry pack, mud, single track and sand. The TKC's are legendary for traction and reliability. Their weakness is the soft compound that makes them so good means they have a short life. In 50/50 riding, I get 6,000 miles on the front and 3,500 on the rear. I can get more off rear if I am not concerned about the dirt traction. Anyway, my buddy has an 1190R and saved some money by going with a longer life tire...he's constantly getting wiggly in the mud, getting stuck and tipping over. He's got broken mirrors, scratches on tank and exhaust and simply lacks confidence in the mud. So... he bought the baddest Adventure bike out there and then is constantly looking for the easy route because he's crippled it with cheap, long life tires! He also can't hop a log because he loses traction on the approach.

Perfect KLR650 Utah Rear Tire
Purchased this tire about a year ago and no complaints. It's great for anything in Utah: road, dirt, sand, red rock, and even snow and ice (which I don't recommend).

Good traction poor life on a powerful Adventure bike
Great traction, a little noisy but not bad. Only last 2,300 miles on my 1190R which is too bad. Will look for another tire that holds up better to my 70-road 30-dirt riding.

This is a great dual sport tire!
The TKC 80 is a very good all around dual sport tire with good traction on both wet or dry pavement and excellent off road traction in gravel, dirt or sand. The mileage isn't as much as I'd like, but the tire's versatility and all around traction makes it my tire of choice.

Very good tire
I got 3000 out of the tire. They still worked fine on gravel roads but did not have the traction for the hill climbs. I liked it enough to add another rear tire

TKC80 for 2016 KLR 650
I have about 1700 miles on my set of TKC80's. They have great on road traction. I feel a lot more confident than I did with the OEM Dunlops and Shinko 700's. They are also excellent on dirt and rocky terrain and pretty good on gravel. Tread life is better than I expected out of this type of tire. The front is at about 80% with no signs of cupping. The rear is at about 50% and the knobs are in good shape. I do about 95% on road and 5% on rough terrain.

Great tire!
This is the second set of TKC 80s I've put on my F800GSA. They perform much better off-road than the stock setup and really don't lose much on the pavement. I highly recommend these tires for larger adv bikes.

Perfect Dual Sport Tire
This is a great match for my bike. Makes a little noise at highway speed but not bad. Feels very stable on the pavement. Used it off road several times and it felt as good as a true off road tire. Replaced Dunlop 908RR tires with these. No more head shake or vibrations from the aggressive tire.

Will these fit properly on my KTM 1190 Adventure? I am a bit confused about the coding on the tire size as my stock size shows 170/60ZR-17 on the rear and the TKC80 comes in 170/60B-17 (72Q). Is the 72Q a load and speed rating? If so what's the difference from the ZR and B coding?
DARIUS L on Oct 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They should fit the Q rating says dont go over 100 mph. I have though, still here! This tire has awesome grip and it really good off-road. I recently tried a Shinko 805 and I continue to long for the TKC80. Under some throtle the Shinko steps out really quick where the TKC80 has a nice predictable feel on dirt.
will this fit my 2001 XR650R ?
Anthony B on Mar 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I guess will fit front a rear wheel, just buy the correct size and the TKC80 Tube Type, cause your bike use tubes.

For XR650R It seems will be

Front Tire Size:

TKC80 3.00 -21 51S Tube Type

Rear (Tire) Size: original size is 4.5 inch,

Conversion to metric

- 110/80 -18 58Q Tube Type
or
- 120/90 -18 65R Tube Type

If you want to use Tubeless tires then you will have to change your wheels for spkoed motard wheels.
