Great 50/50 dual sport tire

Comments On Feb 21, 2016:I put both front and rear T63 tires on at the same time and used them for 1,200 miles. Front had 6 mm tread left and rear had 8 mm of tread left when removed. I used them about 80% off road and liked the performance except for deep sand. But sand performance was probably poor due to heavy bike. Like any off road tire they work better with less air pressure. I used them around 14 psi off road and never had any damage. Rear tire was great in mud. Very stiff sidewall. No chunking or unusual wear. I would buy again if I planned to ride more street miles.

Good overall tire for Dual Sports

Comments On Feb 19, 2016:I have had this tire for a little under a year now and I am impressed with it so far. I have done about 70% road and 30% dirt. In the dirt it performs well and is great in the mud. Gravel is good, but can be a little skidish on loose gravel. Was good in the snow, but I did very little of that. One area that it seems week is on our wet pine needle/moss covered trails in the PNW. Its like riding on greasy slim, it did not cut through like I was hoping for. On road they stick very well, minor hum, but it is a knobby. Also tire wear is as you would expect from a knobby, shorter than a more road biased tire, but still good. Overall I like this tire, even with its short comings. If I don't find anything I like better I will come back to these.

Good Rear Tire, Ok Front Tire....

Comments On Feb 11, 2016:I thought that this was a pretty good choice for a true 50/50 tire. The rear has held up real well at 6000 miles. The front unfortunately has some significant ware on the back side of the knobs. Im not sure what that is about. But never the less these tires grip tarmac real well, and hold up great ripping through the woods. I ride the DR like its a KTM 200, and I can only think of 1 or 2 occasions where the tires came out from under me. Id buy these again, but Im going to try the Big Blocks next.

The tire isn't bad for a DS tire

Comments On Jan 04, 2016:It has pretty good road characteristics, and performs alright off-road too. It's not a total trail tire, but it will get you by.

Great Tire

Comments On Oct 13, 2015:Now on my 4th set. Probably didn't need to change the front every time, but figured while I was at it... . For me, this tire has performed great with everything I've thrown at it. They're on a KLR 650, so there is not a lot of aggressive off road riding, but for everything from trails to interstate they do great. I've tried several other brands and styles of DOT knobbys and these are my favorite. The one downside is I get less than 4000 miles out of a set.

Tuff

Comments On Jul 31, 2015:It lasted a week in Death Valley so that has to say something for the tire itself especially on the KTM doing a burnout 50% of the time riding .

Sand, mud, street and freeway!

Comments On Apr 16, 2015:On my DR650 I need an around tire for the off road and street work I require. On a 5 day trip to Mesquite NV, I road the mud of the Virgin river, sandy washes, the streets around town and the freeway to Bunkerville. Much of the off road is deep sand and thick gravel. The sand is not fun on a heavy bike like the DR but the T 63 gets you in and back out, same with the deep mud! The tire is fine on the streets around town and the noise in par with any other knobbie type tire. Longevity at this point is unknown but with 500 miles so far, I have not seen any chunking, fast or odd wear patterns. I'd guess its will go 3k like most knobbies on a heavy dual sport bike.

Excellent dual sport tire for the cost

Comments On Dec 24, 2014:Swapped this rear onto my 690R and went on a very muddy trail ride. Ground as saturated as it could be and these really hooked up even under alot of power. Was very impressed, also held their own on the road.

Pretty good tire.

Comments On Sep 24, 2014:Other reviewers have been pretty hard on this tire. I've used it as a front on about every terrain and road imaginable. It does well on everything except mud. It's surprisingly tenacious on tarmac with a big warning that you shouldn't push it much harder. It's not a racing or super high performance tire, It's a traveling tire. Even Michelin calls it 50/50. It's probably the best 50/50 out there for dirt. It tracks well on coarse sand covered roads, better than any other 50/50 I've used, the others want to constantly hunt and weave. I'll get about 3,500 miles from the front on my KTM 640. It probably would have gone to 4k if I had flipped it over at 2k. I just ordered a replacement.

Comments On Sep 10, 2014:I bought these in the stock sizing for my bike, but they are smaller than the stocker tires.
