Special Notes:

  • When selecting new motorcycle tires, be sure they meet the requirements of your motorcycle and its expected usage. Please use our vehicle drop down selector at the top of this page to assist you in choosing a tire for your vehicle. Inspect and check tire pressure often. This is the most important tire-maintenance function you can perform. Refer to your machine's documentation for proper maintenance. Always give tires a gentle "run-in" period of 100 miles to get the feel of new tires--this means they should not be subjected to maximum power, abrupt lean-over, hard cornering, etc. Always match the front and rear tires for optimal handling, safety and performance. Mixing radials, or mixing radials with bias or belted-bias tires, may adversely affect handling and stability.

The charts and information on this page do not imply interchangeability. Consult your machine's manual to determine correct replacements, clearances, compatibility and stability, load-bearing capacity, speed rating, radial vs. non-radial, pattern and tread compound requirements, inflation recommendations and front-to-rear tire matching. Wrong selection can result in tire failure or loss of control with serious injury or death.

  • Metzeler's revolutionary motorcycle tire compound delivers high grip under the heavy power delivery of the latest high-performance sport bikes, while providing excellent mileage and a high performance level throughout its life cycle.
  • Compound and advance motorcycle tire tread pattern inspire confidence under wet conditions and reduce hydroplaning.
  • Metzeler Sportec M3 motorcycle tire profile is balanced front and rear to enable the rider to get the best handling from the motorcycle and provide excellent high-speed stability.
  • All-new Metzeler Sportec M3 motorcycle tire 190 profile delivers specific pressure distribution to create an optimal contact pattern.
  • Metzeler Sportec M3 motorcycle tire tread pattern provides grooves where needed for drainage and compound only where grip is required most.
  • New aggressive Metzeler Sportec M3 motorcycle tire tread design accentuates the look of the motorcycle while the motorcycle tire tread design promotes uniform wear.
  • Improved mileage thanks to combined motorcycle tire compound pattern development.

Very Good Tire

Comments On Jan 02, 2013:Replaced some Michelin Pilot Power 2's with the M3's and I couldn't be happier. Ran the tires completely to the edge on the track without any slippage whatsoever. This tire is excellent for some harder street riding and light (middle pace intermediate group) usage at the track.
Rode the same tire on a GSXR1000 and they were overpowered by the bike and needed some good throttle control to avoid spin ups.

3 sets of these now, and 7 other brands later

Comments On Oct 01, 2010:Well I wrote the only review as of now for the front M3, and here is an update on the rears. These still are my top pick for tires on my bike with my riding style. I have gone 4300+, 4720, 4812 miles on each of the rear M3 tires I have had on (the front s easily could have run longer, but I am a replace as a set kinda guy). Just for reference-Comparitively speaking, the Q2's went 4510, 4520 miles between the 2 sets of those I have tried, the Pilot Power 2CT 2300+ miles, the Pilot Power 2500 miles, the Sport Attacks, 2500 miles, the BT016's 3600 miles and OE original 208's about 4000. Most of these tires saw about 33% 2 up, and the the majority of the miles were spent getting to and from the "fun roads" and we typically ride "the pace"- double plus 20 in the corners. No wheelies, no burnouts, no ;) triple digit speeds. 600 cc sportbike.
Additional Comments On Sep 09, 2011: Here is an update, I am now on my 7th set of these. The last several sets the rear tire tread depth has been 6/32" instead of 7/32", so these last 2 rears now have only made it 4320-4560 miles. I don't know why the tread depth change (accidental or deliberate marketing to get people on the M5) but they still perform well and continue to be my tire of choice.
