Comments On Sep 27, 2013:"I don't ride a motorcycle until it is at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit outside!" said I before this purchase. Truth be known I use the heated seat feature in my car nearly every month of the year. Recently, I planned an 800 mile motorcycle adventure touring trip to Jackson, WY only to find the weather on the cold (30 deg) and wet side. Off to RMATV to quickly order some heated gear and WOW! I couldn't be happier! I bought the Firstgear heated jacket, Firstgear portable heat-troller and the Firstgear glove liners. I put on the Firstgear heated liner (MAKE SURE IT FITS SNUG TO HOLD IN THE HEAT), and then put on my Klim Traverse Jacket over and plugged in the liner into the troller. I occasionally dialed the troller knob to adjust the heat as I was cruising down the road. The temp was down to 34 degrees Fahrenheit with a 65 mph wind-chill factor and all I could think of was "Aaaahhhhhhh! This is a nice and toasty tour!" They have designed this gear so the heat every where you need it: around the neck and arms and lower back - simply perfect for riding. It's hard to describe how therapeutic the heated gear is for adventure touring. It's simply awesome. Now I can eat my wimpish "80 degree" words and fear cold rides no more! ;-)
(FYI for you propeller heads: The NOAA Wind Chill Charts indicate that 34 deg at 65 mph feels like 17 deg or "very cold". This gear made me feel like the cat's pajamas and thatâ??s more than significant coming from my 80 degree standard.)
