Details

In the array of knee braces you have to choose from, the Alpinestars Fluid Tech Carbon is a brace that prizes protection, comfort, and a slim form factor. With the Tech Carbon you’re looking at an asymmetric, high-end knee brace that’s main feature is the lightweight carbon polymer construction.

Each brace weighs in at only 1.3 pounds thanks to that carbon polymer, and that makes the Tech Carbon the lightest premium knee brace currently offered by a good margin. The brace also has a very slim profile so riders with larger calves won’t worry about tucking the brace inside their boots. And the profile is only minimally added to by the dual hinge design.

Additional features like the Size Adapter System (SAS), interchangeable articulation spacers, five different hyper extension stops, and several other size adjustments let the Tech Carbon fit you on a personalized level and make it one of the best premium knee braces available.
  • Includes a pair of braces, one left, one right

    Protection
  • EN 1621-1:2012 K type B / Level 1.
  • Knee pivot system: new double-pivoting hinge system incorporating tool-free, fast, easy maintenance
  • New strong and advanced high-performance carbon polymer compound PA12 LCF reinforced for higher breaking resistance.
  • Exchangeable extension stops (0, 5, 10, 15, 20 degrees) to prevent hyper-extension injuries.
  • The Fluid Tech features a lightweight Exoskeleton reduced material construction design.
  • Extreme temperature resilience: Fluid Tech performs at temperatures as low as -4°F (-20°C).
  • Innovative patella/knee cup protection system: ergonomically sculptured and ventilation knee cup system constructed from semi-rigid TPU backed by shock-absorbing PU memory foam.
  • Additional protection in strongly angled positions afforded by upper and lower patella cuffs.

    Comfort & Ergonomics
  • Crucial weight-saving: the Fluid Tech is 40% lighter than current B2 brace versions.
  • Innovative spacer system: brace supplied with leg-size adjustment spacers (1mm, 2mm, and 3mm) on either side of hinge, plus two pairs of flexible, anatomically optimized ‘ergofit’.
  • Spacers (6mm and 9mm) for improved directional articulation performance.
  • Innovative, dual X-strap system promotes secure fitment of brace in all riding positions and includes combined buckle and Velcro closures for rapid and easy mounting.
  • New additional thin ergo fit spacer on the medial (bike) side to have the knee closer to the bike.
  • New softer and comfortable strap system to avoid skin irritations.
  • New soft comfortable lateral knee padding to avoid pressure points.
  • Highly ventilated: channeled padding and mesh zones for optimized ventilation and airflow.
  • The Fluid Tech incorporates a bio-organic engineering design for superb anatomical performance.
  • Correct position of knee cup is secured accurately in place with top and bottom elastic straps, allowing multi-directional freedom of movement.
  • New graphics.

Phenomenal and comfortable knee braces, a-stars got it right this time!
This is my third set of off-road knee braces. Alpinestars first attempt at this brace was not good. The 2016 model that these are, are amazing! Low profile, super light, amazing fit. I forget I have them on. They don't snag on my pants, I have zero complaints!
These are ten times the brace my Asterisk ultra cells were.
I have 24" thighs and big calves, there is so much adjustment. This is the first pair of knee braces I have had that I wasn't maxing out the thigh adjustment.
I loved being able to tune the braces to fit my tipped in knees.
These are also no where near as hot as my Asterisks and last Alpinestars

Awesome braces
Lightest braces out there. Fit & feel are great. Taken a few diggers in corners and so far not one issues. They still look great after 6 months of having them.
I'm vet novice rider that rides almost every weekend.

Are there any differences between the alpinestars fluid tech carbon knee brace and the fluid pro knee brace? Is it just material?
Amy M on May 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My understanding is that he material is the difference, Carbon fiber is lighter than the other materials, I personally love my carbon fiber knee braces
I need help on how to measure my knees. I tried to look up videos and the measurements I got don't match up to any sizes I must be doing something wrong? thanks
Michael F on Jul 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: To answer your question on how to measure your knee, go to Alpinestars web site and go to product, then motocross, then click on the picture of the carbon tech knee brace, scroll down and they have a picture and description of how and where to measure for the knee brace. They come with different size pieces to adjust to your knee size, you just need to know if you are bigger than a large, to order the xlarge brace, hope this helps.
When I measured my knee I am right in the middle of the 2 sizes. I am going to wear a sleeve under the brace. How do they run according to the measurements? Should I get the xl size or the med size?
Scott M on May 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Can't help you with measuring your knees, but I can offer my experience: I normally take a large in most other knee pads/pants/shin pads etc and the S/M/L size were much too tight. The XL/XXL are just right, but these things are small. For anyone with true tree-trunk legs I can't see how they'd fit. Unless you have pretty skinny legs, just go with the XL/XXL, and Rocky Mountain ATV has a free exchange for different size policy anyway - you've only got 2 choices of size :)
