    Great addition for trail riding!
I added the +15oz Steahly flywheel to my my 04 CRF450. I didn’t go with the larger one because it said it required modifications to the cover. As it turned out the +15 also required two simple mods. Had I known this I would have gone with the heaviest flywheel. That being said the additional flywheel weight is awesome. I rode it on some very sandy single track trails and it didn’t stall once. Chugged along nicely. If you are using it on a Honda buy a new gasket because the old is most likely going to shred when you remove the cover.

    No stall
Works great. Installs easy. Will need a flywheel puller for your bike. Helps the stall factor on 450's greatly in woods. If you are new or not to 450's its a must for trail riding in mountains or harescrambles/enduro.

This is a complete flywheel replacement on the Honda CRF. So you will need a flywheel puller. The installation was pretty simple. This thing is great when converting a MX bike to hare scramble ready. Add a tooth or 2 to the rear sprocket and forget the clutch work. Great addition to my bike. Highly recommend.

    Worth the money
Evens out power delivery. Much easier to run in technical low speed settings especially where you are running lower rpms. Much less stalling.

Easy install and it has really helped reduce the stalling issue on my 11 450. Would recommend this to just about any recreational rider. Glad i went with the heaviest 17oz option

    Stealthy flywheel
My dad just put one of these on his crf450r to try and help with the overheating problem and he loves it so far! Around our property and in the desert (casually riding) it runs a little bit cooler than before but we have a race in wendover coming up (way hot) and that will be the ultimate test. Hopefully I can get back on here and let you guys how it did. The flywheel also helps it run a lot smoother and not die as easy

4 years and still going strong
It was a must on my 07 crf 450. Made pounding out tight single track much easier. Less stalling, more lugging, and smoothed out the power for me. Love it.

Which flywheel weight is best for a 2004 CRF 450 for trail riding?
    JIM D on Dec 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I went with the heaviest which was a 13 or 14 oz. The cranks on the motocross bikes are very light for quick revving, but really stink in the woods, stalls galore. When i put the flywheel weight on, it changed its low end personality without me noticing any high end issues. No more stalls hopping logs, etc. Also, i felt that if it were too heavy, i could always remove and drill/rebalance if necessary, but that may not be an option for some. I say go for it, you'll love the difference.
How does the addition of flywheel weight affect engine life?
    Thomas O on Jan 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't believe it limits the life of a motor. If anything, it may give it more longevity because of the added inertia, it puts less strain on the crank and bearings. Helps the clutch plate life as well. You dont need to feather the clutch and slip it because it lowers the rpm stall speed with the additional weight on the flywheel. Hope this helps.
I just recently bought a 2006 crf250r and I only ride trails and woods. I've been trying to figure out what a good weight is for a fly wheel? Also I've been wanting to get a bigger sprocket size to go with this.
    Austin G on May 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Steahly products are top notch. I own a 450r and went with the heaviest flywheel they make for my bike. A +17 oz. The heavy fly wheel helps for trial riding and single track by allowing you to lug the motor more without stalling. Make sure to look up the instructions for installation. They may require a flywheel puller. I bought the Tusk Flywheel puller and made the job a lot easier! Rocky Mountain can help to make sure you get the right size of flywheel and puller. Good luck!
How heavy is the stock flywheel?
    A shopper on Oct 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The weight of stock flywheels vary with every machine. Generally when you enter your machine on our site and pull up this product, it will tell you in the product description how many ounces heavier this flywheel is than stock.
