Details

The DID 520 VT2 Narrow Enduro Racing X-Ring Chain gives you the durability of an X-Ring chain in a width as skinny as non-sealed chains.

If your bike has slim clearances designed for traditional, non-sealed drive chains, DID’s VT2 is a great choice for getting the extended durability of their X-Ring chain in a narrow package. The VT2 uses DID’s patented X-Ring design to hold lubricant inside the chain assembly and reduce friction points that occur in every link. This makes the VT2 specifically geared for the harshness of off-road riding with 1.5 to 2 times the lifespan and half the power loss of competing O-ring and modified O-ring designs. The VT2 chain is plenty robust with a tensile strength of 8,440 pounds and is recommended for any bike 500cc or under. So if your bike fits narrow, non-o-ring chains but you want the durability and ease of a sealed chain, pick up the DID 520 VT2 Narrow Enduro Racing X-Ring Chain for everything but width.

    Specs:
  • Sealed ring chain with narrow body width
  • Same width as non-o-ring chains
  • More durability with less adjusting and lubrication
  • Half the power loss of other O-ring and modified O-ring designs
  • 1.5 to 2 times longer wear life than other O-ring and modified O-ring designs
  • Includes master link
  • 8,440 pound tensile strength
    500cc displacement recommended
  • Patented X-Ring® design

Great chain
Great chain with very little stretch. After first ride had to slightly adjust it but after that it has been solid. Way better than factory chain on 2015 KX450F

Only Consideration
This chain is what came stock on my 2014 KTM 450 XCF. After 3 years and 10 months, or 247 hours of use, it was used up and needed replacing. It was the most durable drive chain I had ever owned and nothing else was going to replace it. Most of my riding is high desert trails so it rarely got wet. It was also never lubricated by me except once with WD-40 after a mud ride so it never collected dirt that acts like a rubbing compound that shortens the life of a chain.

The only chain I run
I've been racing with these chains for years. Long distance desert racing. These outlast the sprockets by far.

Nice Spare Link Option
Mimics the stock narrow chain on KTMs from the factory, nice replacement link for trail side repairs or when the stock link wears down.

Does this chain come with the rivet-style master link or the c-clip style?
Jonathon K on Nov 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: C-clip style. This chain will last at least 1 year for racers, non-racers more than that. I put 125hrs+ on this chain, before replacing.
THE DID WEB SITE SAYS IT INCLUDES BOTH MASTER LINKS.... IS THIS THE CASE?
Tom L on Aug 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. You can get both but the chain comes with the clip on. I would order and install the rivet on, and carry the clip on for emergencies. FYI the rivet on is labeled as ZJ and has hollow pin ends so it can be installed with most cheap chain presses.
Will this fit my 04 Honda Crf250x?
Jacob M on Jun 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will fit width wise, just order the correct number of links or with the 120 link length you will need to cut the chain to the length. Be sure you order the correct master link as you have a choice between clip style (which most people use) or rivet style.
will this fit a yz250 2 stroke?
Wesley W on Mar 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The chain will work great for you. I have always ordered a 120 link and ended up removing links depending on application. If you have stock size sprockets and they offer the correct# link chain for your bike then that's even better but yes this chain will work on your bike and last as long as anything with proper maintenance
Does anyone know if this narrow chain is lighter than standard o-ring chain? How much lighter?
Mark W on Mar 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Mark, sorry but I can't tell you for certain if it's lighter. I purchased it for my '82 Husqvarna 430XC. The narrower width of this chain allows me to have an X-ring chain that fits the tighter spaces of this vintage bike. I would imagine it's a shade lighter than a full-width 530 X-ring chain, but probably not enough to make any meaningful difference, especially on an open-class bike.
Can I shorten this chain to 112 links without issue? I believe it will be ok but just want to be sure. thanks
shad m on Feb 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: We shortened to 116 on my 015 CRF450R without issues. We did use a high dollar chain breaker however. Don't attempt with a cheaply made chain breaker. Awesome chain will be replacing with one on my 018 KTM 450SXF soon.
It is gold color as picture shows?
A shopper on Nov 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is
At the "choose a vehicle" section I'm unable to choose my bike a 2014 KTM xc-w for parts... when choosing/searching I have to use a 2014 KTM xc. Will this chain work properly on 2014 KTM xc-w? Thanks for your help!
Marty P on May 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would be happy to look into this. Which XC-W do you have?
What is the overall width of this chain?
A shopper on Dec 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The thickest part of the chain, including the pins is 18.5mm.
