I like the ease of installing them but it seems they are a bit longer than the stock blocks, had to screw the adjuster bolts almost all the way in..for proper chain adjustment
tusk makes affordable alternatives that look nice. first shipment was missing a bolt. rocky mtn sent a whole new kit for free. Now I have a spare, but can't give to friend because it's missing a bolt (custom made). Makes chain adjustment quicker than stock. time will tell how anodizing and adjustment markers hold up, but it was cheap, serves a purpose, and looks nice.
If you're stupid like me and you lose your axel nut and don't notice till one of your axel blocks fly off and you nearly lose it on a tight trail....than you probably need some new axel blocks. Well lucky me Tusk makes these babies at half the price of the OEMs and you can actually read the marks. Weight is about the same as my old ones were and if I learn how to tighten axel nuts should last for a long time. The reason for 4 stars is because I bought it in combination with the a Tusk axel lock nut and it doesn't fit that well. The axel blocks have a little recess cut into them where the axel nut seats into but the flange on the axel nuts is a tiny bit bigger and actually bites into the anodizing when tightened. Sort of works as a lock feature I guess... As long as they keep working I don't care and I don't think my axel nut will come off again...just hope I don't have to cut it off
I actually lost the fixed end of my KTM axle spindle. OEM parts were a lot more expensive. I gave this product a try. It’s worked well and the marks on the axle blocks make it easier to adjust the chain than the stock blocks did. A little bit of work on the KTM because the chain side block is affixed to the axle. Red loctight it!
I noticed a crack in the left hand side rear axle block of the bike where the axle treads into the block. So I pick these up. When I took the axle out of the bike, the block fell apart. They give you a nice threaded block to jamb the axle nut against to install the threaded block and so far so good!! Looks pretty trick as well.
Good clean set up no damages nothing looks wrong and stands out on the bikes
I Originally ordered the axel block because I had lost my axel nut in a race and lost the block as well but it was nice because one has the square insert for my axel and the other is set for a washer so it is set up to be made for one side.
The chain blocks look mint with my orange Tusk rims and also I purchased the Tusk rear axle nut and it wont vibrate loose as easy as the stock one.
When I ordered I was questioning myself why so in expensive. I received them and was not let down. These Tusk chain blocks work mint with my motocross bike it makes adjusting my chain much easier to read and shaves a lot of time off the process. I will be a lifer with this product they will be on every bike I build!
Tusk does it again, cant beat the price. works as they should. makes chain adjustment precise and easy to install. i have installed on all my bikes, and now my friends bikes also.
A great product at a great price. Make sure you use a socket to take off you axle bolt, if you touch the blocks with a wrench it will wear the slots right off the blocks.
Have used these on a few KTM RFS platform bikes. You may need some heat to remove the factory adjusters. Just clean up the threads and use threadlocker when installing these. work great and look great!
I have bought a lot of Tusk parts and tools and have always been happy, but these axle blocks are definitely lacking. I like the markings which make them easy to align, and the look. However the aluminum they are made of is very soft and the groove for the axle end to sit in is way too shallow. I have to press the axle into the block hard while torquing the nut otherwise the axle slips right out of of the shallow groove, stripping metal and finish off with it as it slips.
If they made the groove just a little bit deeper, these would be a solid buy, but as they are, I'm considering putting the original chewed up blocks back on because I just don't trust these to hold.
Wanted to find an axle block that would let the adjustment bolt be somewhat protected, and not have to be extended all the way. Worked perfect, and looks good too!
I think I figured it out. Not the spare part the square part. I think it's just to chase the threads on the axle then not used. Thank you for your time
