Replaced older model.
My 4yr old model did not survive an unfortunate tree incident. This was a nice upgrade. Noticeable improvements, especially the mount and wire disconnects. Old unit was easily removed but "backing plate" connection was too susceptible to water damage. They changed all that. Black looks better than the silver too.

Happy with the additional data ya get from this
Had it before last race of season. Realized my 45 year old eyes really can’t see numbers in screen in heat of competition but post race data was sweet to review

Trail Texh got me there!
Stock KTM odometer failed and the Trail Tech worked flawlessly on LA-Barstow-to-Vegas. It was very accurate once I’d done a single adjustment to it. Great product!

Good computer for what I wanted and easier to mount than I thought. I would recommend
I wanted a distance computer with a clock and this did the job and more. Even though the instructions look difficult, it is not a hard install. Customer service from trail tech was good as well. No need for a battery unless you want the backlight on all the time. Was pretty easy to install. You may have to be creative on where to mount or make your own. Only drawback is it counts ride time by wheel movements, not by motor running. Although other models will.

I did not see if this will display fuel level on my atv? Bought this for a 2016 kodiak 700. Hoping it does because its on the way already.
A shopper on Oct 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It will not display fuel level as there is no sensor for it.
Aren't they prone to breakage being such tight tolerance between rotors and rotor guard, it seems like mud anc stivks will prbly knock off the magnet head?
A shopper on Sep 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Models that use just the magnet in the rotor bolt have a special location on the rotor that the magnet sits in and then clips in from the other side to prevent it from being knocked out. Other applications replace a rotor bolt with a magnetic bolt. Either option is very sturdy.
Does this run on bike or battery power ?
Patrick P on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I actually bought the computer for my dad, but I will try to answer your question from what I've seen when riding with him. Without analyzing it too much, I would say both because it doesn't loose any memory when the bike is off (battery), but doesn't turn on until the bike is running. I don't believe there is a cord that you wrap around the coil wire like an hour meter. He has the EXC KTM model and his bike already had electrical plugs that my SXF does not.
Will it work without a stator or battey? My yz250 is kick start
Daniel B on Apr 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will, i had mine on a 250sx. The main computer function will run on a watch battery which last a long time. The only thing not functional without an electrical system is the blue backlight for the screen to illuminate in the dark.
Is it waterproof ?
A shopper on Sep 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I bought the computer for my dad's bike and can't speak with 100% accuracy, but to my knowledge it is, yes. I don't believe it's any different than the OEM computers that come on some of the KTM models and having had one in the past, they are waterproof within reason. If the bike is submerged in water, I can't speak on the outcome of the computer.
How would you hook this up to a 2003 YZ 125?
Brantley F on Oct 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: That should not be a problem. I used it on a 2006 kx 250. There is a magnet you use to replace a bolt in the front brake rotor. Then a pick up mounts to the fork leg. The computer mounts to the handlebars. I put mine low so when I wreck it won't hit the ground. I have been using it for about a year. It is hard to read when going. But keeps miles, speed, top speed, average speed. I like to know this stuff when I ride.
does the trail tech ll come with the necessary mounting kit including speed sensor & wire/magnet?
Jasynn D on Apr 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi - yes. I've purchased several systems and they come with a kit that has ancillary mounting hardware as well as a range of magnets for the pickup system. The mounting system that comes with the kit is a plastic bracket that mounts to the handle bars. I use this on my TE250. The best way to mount the system is to use the machined aluminum mounts ... I purchased one these for my YZ. On vintage bikes I've had to make a mount for the sensor ... but this was easily done using a bracket I purchased at Ace Hardware. Hope this helps.
Are the mounting brackets included?
A shopper on Oct 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It comes with plastic brackets which are fairly substantial to mount to the handlebars and also several options for the pick up magnets on the wheel. I ended up making an aluminum bracket that bolts to the top of the handlebar mounts for the head and made an aluminum bracket to hold the pick up head on the front desk. Enter an answer to this question.
Where do you find the bar clamps?
Jeri W on Nov 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It comes with two clamps. One for 7/8" bars and one for 1 1/8" bars. Either one will attach to the holder for the computer. I mounted mine so it sits right behind my crossbar. They also sell a metal holder that offers a bit more protection, however I had a pretty hard get off with the factory set up and the computer wasn't even phased. I hope this helps
Will this work on any style bike like a crusier?
Jesse H on Mar 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I put it on a dual sport dirt bike, you run the cable to the wheel and you run the other to the battery, easy as that. Should work for any type of bike, even a bicycle if you purchase the mini battery pack.
Is the installation on this product fairly easy?
Gregory L on Feb 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I've installed several on modern and vintage motorcycles. You just need to follow the directions and take time measuring / calibrating the front wheel so you get accurate mileage and speed readings. In some installations I've made my own pick up bracket using simple hardware available from ACE hardware. Good luck.
Will this plug right in to my 04 WR250F?
Kyle D on Apr 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not familiar with the wiring harness of the WR but it comes with a wiring harness to attached to a battery on the bike or you can use it with the battery the computer has just have to replace the battery over time. Hope this helps! I have used it on two of my bikes! Love them.
Does anyone make a speedometer for a 2016 Kx 100?
corey j on Feb 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you're clever it's easy! All you need is a place to mount a little magnet either bolted are glued on to the front desk. Then the little pick up unit can be strapped to the inside of the fork leg with a couple of Tie wraps this barometer itself just uses a little plastic bracket which is supplied to mount to the handlebars.
Will this product hold up In adverse weather? Snow, rain? Will it continue to work through being EXTREMELY cold? Like -10 Fahrenheit.
Jordan A on Dec 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have had the Trail Teck II speedo on my bike for two years now and have been very happy with its performance. I ride mostly up in Summit county in Colorado and the speedo has worked down to temps around 20 degrees and in rain and snow. Not sure about the -10 degrees given it's a LCD display. I highly recommend the product.
I have a 2008 KTM 200 XC W. Will I be able to use the factory KTM mount (for the speedo unit that is stock), for this new unti? Will the existing cables plug right into this new unit? My current computer seems to eat batteries every other ride.
Brian W on Aug 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No it wont fit on the factory mount without modification,
I cant remember if the speed pick up is the same, I think it is
I have recently had problems with the coin type batteries being junk out of the box,
I thought that my computer was eating them also but after the 4th set of batteries I bought
I now have a one that has been working for a month or so.
Look for battery packs with the latest sell by date
Can i just buy the wiring harness?
A shopper on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am pretty sure you can. You may have to call Rocky Mountain and talk to their customer service department in order to order the correct harness, and if they do not carry it I am sure you could contact Trail Tech direct as they are sure to have what you need.
Does it come with all wiring to hook it up to a machine or does it plug into the existing speedo and computer?
Heath P on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It comes with all the needed wires and connectors for your bike.
Does this come with a mounting bracket?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Ya it comes with a plastic multiple positions mount . I think it's a pretty cheesy design but the aftermarket billet mount is really worth the money. And for the price and the functions the computer does it work really nice for what I do.
how do i connect it to my ds 450 can am i have to go to the main shop or it comes with cables?
A shopper on Jan 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Order the correct computer for your bike. Then you can mount the magnet / sensor on the front brake disc / caliper and calibrate for your tire size for accurate speed. Run the sensor cable up zip tied to the front brake cable, and plug into the endurance computer. I’ll runs on batteries and the hard wire option only controls the backlight so I don’t use it. I always buy the aluminum dash board as the plastic clamp on mount is flimsy.
How does this work on a stock dirt bike? Do i need any thing else to make it work on a stock dirt bike?
Mason H on Dec 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I installed it on my Honda Rancher ATV and didn't need anything extra. Some guys that did reviews on YouTube were able to mount it to their bikes with no problems. Should be fine. I think they give you everything in the box for bike or ATV. I didn't find a need for anything other than what was in the box. Hope that helps.
does it fit a 2001 Yamaha ttr 125?
A shopper on Sep 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. This should be just fine. These have there own internal battery to operate the unit. The receiver mounts on the brake bracket and magnet takes place of one of the brake disc bolts. Align these two parts, zip-tie the cable to the front brake line up to the bars. I would recommend the protective house that incases the unit and them mounts to the bar bracket. Then program the unit to the wheel size and you are good. Took me about 50 minutes to complete.
will this work on drum breaks? i'm assuming it will, i just cant imagine where the magnets will mount.
Finn M on Apr 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You can epoxy the pickup on to one surface and use a bracket to mount the other. There is a YouTube vid, a guy put one on his Puch scooter that might help you out.
Can I put this on a ATV?
Austin S on Oct 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You can put it on anything. You just have to figure out how to rig the sender on the wheel, and route the sender wire.
Can it hook up to old computer wires off a 07 KTM 300xcw?
A shopper on Jan 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You should be able to use the power wires, not sure if the speedometer is compatible. But the KTM have a hole already in the front rotor for the trail tech system. Hope this helps
How does this hook up to 2018 yz250fx? Is it plug and play?
Michael W on Apr 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is pretty much plug and play took me about 45min to install the only thing you will have to do is get the front tire measured from top to bottom in mm and enter that number in the trail tec for a more accurate reading works great
My four wheeler didn't come with a speedometer or a hour meter will this product work on mine Honda 420 Rancher 2007?
Jared L on Aug 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It should if your Rancher has front disc brakes. The Trail Tech is electric not gear driven. A magnet is mounted on the disc and the electric pick up is mounted on the brake caliper. Then use the instructions to calibrate the Trail Tech to the ATV's wheel size. I have used two Trail Techs and they work fine. Accurate to within two mph.
Is this universal mount for conventional forks or inverted forks? I know the pick up mount is different design for each.
A shopper on Jul 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You need to add your bike and if it says it will fit your bike then the kit will be for your forks.
Where can I buy a new mounting bracket? I got bigger bars and only have the 7/8 bracket and I need the 1 1/8 one.
A shopper on Jun 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Its called "ENDURANCE II REPLACEMENT HANDLE BAR MOUNTING" part number "2000-BCA"
Check the trailech website - didn't see RMATV selling it.
