Anyone try this and the installer on 1970s era Huskys?

Tusk Crankcase Splitter
Tusk Crankcase Splitter
BEST ANSWER: Hey John. I have not worked on those engines in particular but I have used these tools on many others. Before I had the splitter tool it was necessary to make a custom pulling plate for each different set of engine cases because the tapped holes for the pull rods are often not 180 degrees across from each other and the push pin must be straight on to the end of the crankshaft. Using this tool it is easy to centre the pin and then move the slotted arms to line up with two or three tapped holes in the engine case. Remember to make the puller level with the cases so that you pull evenly an the anchor rods. The crank puller/installer is easy to use. It slips over the end of the crankshaft and the threaded/tapped end is used to draw the crank toward the case. Hope this helps, Jay.
Will this work on a 01 honda trx 400ex?
A shopper on Apr 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This product came with the most commonly used sizes by maunufactureres. Able to do a variety of cranks. I can't tell you 100% yes but I will say with certainty that it will do the job you need it to do. Parts provided give you a variety of applications not just honda but other brands as well Yamaha , Suzuki , Kawasaki Japan brands. I have used mine on a wide variety of Japan brand dirtbikes, atv's and it does what it's supposed to do! I'm rather happy with its purchase.
I need the crank puller/installer tool and am wondering if I will also need to buy the adapter setup also.? I'm installing a wesico crank in a 2004 CR 250
jared f on Dec 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure I havnt used mine yet but I'd get a adapter if they have one you can always return it. I am using mine on a KTM so I don't know how different it is.

BEST ANSWER: I could not tell you for sure. The trick to pulling the crank case is to pull it apart evenly and equally. Not knowing the width I'm just not sure. These tools will do many different crankcase. Sorry I could not help on that one. Best advise would be to call the cat dealer, or measure the distance between the bolts send them to me and I can measure the three spreader legs to see if this will work. It needs to have three points to pull equal.
Could this work to pull a flywheel on a raptor 700 ?
Francis L on Jan 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No you would have to buy flywheel puller totally different
It says won't work for KTM 125/144/150. I have a KTM 105 sx. Will it work for that engine?
Scott I on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: That I am not sure of. I have a YZ 250 and it worked great for my bike. Both my older brothers have KTMs but theirs are 300's and they haven't had to tear them apart yet. You might want to contact Tusk to get a better idea if it will work or not.
I have a 2006 Suzuki rmz 250 and I have to put my casing back together . I was wondering if I need that c-clip adapter? I have a kawasaki motor in that bike is the reason for the question
Thanks
Gary J on Nov 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You don't need the c-clip kits. I looked up your bike and it shows a nut holding on the water pump gear on the right side which means you don't need the kit. If there are threads on the right side of the crank a c-clip kits isn't needed. Certain older KX two stroke need the kit. We have a newer kx 85/100 and it doesn't need the kits.
Will this tool work with little KTM 50 case?
Dan M on Aug 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: this includes both male and female M10x1.25mm and M12x1.25mm adaptors to attach to crank assembly. i am not sure what your crank is. you will have to measure it too see what size it is. thanks for your question.
Will this work on a 530 ktm crank?
Brian B on Apr 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I haven't actually used it on a 530 crank, but I haven't seen a crank I couldn't using it on. Works extremely well is well worth the investment if you're into doing your own engine work.
Will this nifty tool work on a à Montesa Cota 349? Thanks.
