Comments On Mar 07, 2015:Your description of these Tusk Grip Heaters was right on. They get hot fast and as advertized, may be too hot on the high setting. With five heat settings there is always just the right one. The kit is extremely easy to install by following your very complete installation instructions. the kit is complete with everything necessary for a finished installation, with the exception of a few cable ties. With the Thumb Warmer add on, my hands will be toasty even on the coldest rides. Thank you for a great product at a fair price.

Poor design

Comments On Dec 09, 2014:This is the first time I have been unhappy with a Tusk product. I read the reviews and knew the grips would be hard to get on. I first plugged them in to make sure they worked before installing. I next slowly worked the grips on. Once they were installed I had no heat. Tore one of the handles off to find out why. The wire inside the grips had split and was not making contact. Went and bought another pair to try since all the wiring was hooked up. Same problem only this time I tapped the grips on.

needs improvement

Comments On Jan 15, 2015:Let me start by saying i am a big RMATV fan. I really wanted to like this product. It was very difficult to get them on. I have a 2014 honda rancher and I had to use a board and a hammer to beat it on but it was still very difficult. I also used wd40 to lube up the bars. Once on the inner donut was too large and the thumb throttle would clear the inner part of the grip. I had to trim it with a knife. the plastic mount for the handle bars needs to be a little sturdier as it slightly cracked while tightening. They are warm. I am mainly giving feedback for the benefit of RMATV so they can improve their product. As they stand now I wouldn't use them again.

Just installed,can't wait for snow.

Comments On Nov 29, 2014:These grips appear well made and were easy to install. On my Polaris Sportsman,I really had to pound to get the grips on. They will have to be cut off. Heated up right away. One minor side note. They forgot to include a Scotchloc.

Easy install

Comments On Nov 05, 2014:I just finished installing this grip heater on a 08 Grizzly 700. I must admit, I was a little concerned about how difficult the grip was going to be to slide on over the handle bars after reading the reviews. However, the grizzly must have the perfect bars for this item. After making sure my bars were very clean using carb. cleaner, I did a initial test and the grips acted as though they were made for this unit. I used a little grip glue at the leading edge of the grip and these slid right on. I found the wiring to be a joy, and the test ride proved great in 20 degree temps. Unfortunately there are different size bars which accounts for the difficulty in application. As for my experience, I plan on getting another set as soon as i finish this review for my king quad. :)

They work but require a BFH to get them on the bar

Comments On Oct 21, 2014:The grips are bonded to an inner sleeve which fits on the bar very tight. Make sure the bar is 100% clean before you try to put these on. I even sprayed WD-40 on the bar and had to hammer them on. They won't budge. If you ever have to remove them you're going to have to cut them off. They're good for a utility ATV, and work like they should.

Very warm but...

Comments On Apr 22, 2014:I bought 2 sets of these for a trip to Northern AZ where the weather can get chilly, especially when it rains and you have to ride with damp/wet hands.
Installation went well once I got the old grips off (I used an air compressor and they popped right off). Mounting the switch was a bit challenging but I was able to make it work with some strong double-sided tape.
The grips are VERY warm and the LEDs showing the heat level are very easy to see even in bright sunlight.
The biggest negative is with the quality of the rubber. They just wont last very long. As mentioned, I put these on for a trip and we covered about 450 miles over 5 days. The grips performed well but the rubber failed miserably. It took no time for them to wear down to an almost "slick" status and the edges on the ends tore right off. Needless to say they have almost zero grip left which is very unfortunate.
