The Acerbis X-Grip frame guard serves a dual purpose. First, it allows the rider to protect the frame of the motorcycle from wear. As a frame protector, it keeps the bike in better condition over time. But the genius of the Acerbis X-Grip frame guard comes in adding a second purpose: grip. That's right; not only does the X-Grip serve as an excellent frame protector, it also makes it easier for a rider to hang on to the bike. As the name implies, it’s a frame guard that adds more grip for the rider.
The Acerbis X-Grip frame guard is made from a dual-injected mold, and that's where the key is. The outer plastic is durable polycarbonate – that's what allows it to serve as an excellent frame guard. Meanwhile, the inner plastic is much more pliable (though still durable), and this is the piece that offers the incredible grip. Together, they create a frame guard that will make both bike and rider happy.
The Acerbis X-Grip frame guard allows the rider to both protect the frame of the motorcycle from wear as well as add more grip to the bike to hold onto.
It is made from a dual-injected mold.
The outer plastic of the frame protector is durable polycarbonate, while the inner plastic is durable (yet pliable) and offers incredible grip.
Periodic cleaning behind the frame guard is recommended.

These especially help with keeping wear and tear off your bikes frame and also protects the rear master cylinder. Easy installation and a huge difference
Beware, if you don’t take them off and clean behind them after every ride the dirt gets is behind them and pits the aluminum frame. I ran them on my 2017 Honda 450 and the frame was trashed. I was warned too but didn’t believe it. Threw them away, it took 4 hours to get the frame to look decent again. I love the look and grip though.
After going through grip tape and eventually rubber grip tape after every ride, I picked up these frame guards. The protect the frame, look great, and help grip the bike better.
Make sure that before you install these you use gorilla duct tape on your frame. Otherwise the plastic will rub on your frame and wear the paint off of it. This defeats the whole purpose of putting this protectors on. I had to cut them to get them to fit on a TC 85 huskyvarna. I also had to find other zip ties that would work better to keep it on to the frame.
I wasn't sure that these would make a big difference, but I was wrong. These grips actually do help my leg grip quit a bit . If you have any question if these are worth the purchase, think no more they work and my dirt bike will have them. I strongly recommend this product.
I did these originally for looks and to proect the KTM frame paint, but was an awesome upgrade over stock. I had so much more control over the bike with my gripping. Now I'm torn on my yz250x because I like the aluminum frame to be visible and not cover it up.
Put these on my YZ250X, installed easy and look cool! 1 ride on them so far and still look new! I had the carbon fiber ones which cost double on my 450 and after the first ride were all scratched up.
this bike has been ridden hard for 5+years the paint on the frame has worn off twice as well as multiple frame guard stick-ons, installs in about 5 minutes, really cleaned up an area of the bike that is hard to make look pretty, plus the added functionality - Grips boots nicely and stays put
Frame guards look and feel great very easy to install , I have the 2019 crf 250r and on the clutch side the insert they give you is to big butt very easy fix , looks awesome ,
They look great and add grip without tearing up your gear like grip tape can do. They do make the frame feel a tiny bit wider, but I got used to it in one ride. They hold up really well, going strong after two seasons. I run the white and black ones on my KTM and the silver and blue ones on my Yamaha--the silver blends in with the aluminum nicely.
Looks good. Works good. Fits good. Much better than the “grip tape” products that my son wore through in one ride will definitely get a set for the next bike I buy
Put these on my 450R and they work very well. You won't wear through these in a few rides! Traction is pretty good with them. I don't notice them on there anymore.
i bought these to stay gripped to my bike. these are very grippy, stayed grippy for a good amount of time, stuck right on, and fitted perfectly on my bike.
I do recommend, but I sure wish the material was better
It fits like most aftermarket items (gotta fidget a little), looks great, works great for protection, I love the extra grip, but it wears away so quickly. Yes, for the money it's still worth buying every 40 hours in my opinion, but it is rather hard to believe that hard parts such as frame protection are consumables.
BEST ANSWER:Acerbis only states that they fit they YZ250F, YZ450F, and YZ250FX but say nothing about them fitting the YZ450FX. I assume they are very similar if not the same, but I cannot be certain.

My best advice would be to see if the frames are the same. I had the same question on my 17 KTM 300 xcw ,there is no listing for my xcw model ,just the xc .I checked OEM frame guards from the xc to the xcw and the part number was the same ,so my new guards fit just fine. If the frames are the same you MAY be okay. kickstand clearance / mounts are probably you most important issue,as a YZ 450 has none. Do some homework as they are molded very well .
yes these will fit both so you can order either due to the fact that the frame on a yz450fx is the same as the yz450f , the only diferences on these bikes chasis wise is the upper and front brackets.
BEST ANSWER:If the item is spec'd for your bike they will fit perfect. I do not suggest trying to modify to fit different models. Mine went on in about 3 min. They have also seen about 4000 miles and that far exceeded my expectations.

BEST ANSWER:There is a screw hole at the bottom of the grip to go into the swing arm slot. Something similar to drywall anchors are placed in there. All hardware comes with the grips. There are also zip ties which hold the top to the frame. I have had these on for about 50 hours of moto and crashed plenty, zero issues. In fact, I lost my hardware after a cleaning, and they sent me a replacement kit for free.
A combination of the stock bolts on the bottom, some plastic clips on the back of these guards and zip ties on the top. It’s exactly like the stock frame guards. They stay in place well

The stock hardware will hold these in place. Not sure what bike you have, but on a ktm or husky they just use bolts that are already in use on the frame. Zip ties are also used to help secure it in place.
On the right side a small screw at bottom. a tie wrap on brake cylinder. and a tie wrap at top. On left side a small screw at bottom and a tie wrap at top
They do not follow the curve of the frame and is not wide enough where the frame cures and straighten out love the engine. If you can get them on the brake bolt holes do not line up. Can rig on and have to do a little cutting to fit.
Steven you are correct, we just found out last week that Honda changed the frame. So we will have some for the 19s, just not sure when we will receive them.

These guards are a new item so i am guessing that Acerbis is making the first releases for the bikes that they believe will sell the most . Try e mailing Acerbis direct ,they may have a date for release of the parts you are looking for . The guards for my KTM are very nice and well designed.

I have a 2018 YZ450fx but its not showing my bike, I see the comments that say they fit the same as a 450F but the 2018 450f was re-designed with a new frame. Does anyone know if I order for a 2017 450f if it will fit?
BEST ANSWER:Unfortunately Acerbis does not make frame guards for that machine. The right side frame guard is the main issue, it will not line up correctly with the rear master cylinder.

Will the white and black ones fit my 2016 husqvarna fc450 because I'm pretty sure that the longer guards fit and I'm not sure if the short ones pictured are the actual ones that get shipped?
BEST ANSWER:This picture is generic and doesn't necessarily represent the actual product you will receive. If your machine is listed in the drop down menu, it will fit.
