The AltRider Crash Bars bolt directly to the frame (rather than with a clamp as the OE accessory bars do) and compliment the lines of the bike while maintaining the narrow maneuverable profile of the Africa Twin. AltRider bars are connected right to left with a crossover tube so that any impact loads are distributed to all mounting points. AltRider builds them from stainless steel, with uprated 4.76 mm mounting flanges, 2.0 mm wall thickness tubing, CNC laser mitering, and hand tigged welds here in the USA. The AltRider crash bars are designed so that in the case of a tip over the bike comes to rest with all vital areas protected and off the ground. Compatible with both DCT and manual transmission.
After searching the many brands of crash bars I found these to be built and designed better than most other brands. Very heavy stainless pipe and brackets are very heavyset built as well. I also like the modular system that will allow me to add on to the bars for full upper protection in the future.
