Boyesen Pro Series dual-stage reeds combine a carbon-fiber top reed with a fiberglass bottom reed for unrivaled performance. The carbon-fiber top reed has excellent response characteristics that provides even quicker acceleration, stronger throttle response, and more over-rev than standard Power Reeds. The fiberglass bottom reed provides stability and longer reed life.
Pro Series dual-stage reeds produce even better throttle response right off idle and through the mid-range when compared to the traditional Power Reed setup. And like the Power Reeds, the mid is very crisp and the top just keeps pulling.
The most significant performance benefit of a Pro Series reed system is characterized by stating that the additional throttle response makes it easier to ride smoother and faster. To summarize the overall performance benefit to Boyesen Pro Series reeds in one word, they are simply RESPONSIVE! In this regard, improved throttle response is precisely what Boyesen Pro Series reeds deliver!
Replaced stock reeds with these. Instantly noticed that the power delivery was much smoother and seemed to give a bit more bottom end. Night and day difference. Have roughly 20-25 hours on them with no signs of wear or gapping
My stock reeds were trashed, this was a nice upgrade and priced fair. Not as big of a performance gain as buying a full rad valve, but if youre looking for a good upgrade and just need some replacement reeds, its a good buy.
Partnered with the right jetting, these are really good reeds! Throttle response is unbelievable for not using an aftermarket reed cage! Very crisp right off the bottom! I’ve used these on Kx85, yz250 and cr125 and have had the same result every time!
I installed these in my '01 YZ250, just before my last hare scramble, and all I can say is WOW! My bike honestly has never run this good. It has so much more power, through the entire power band! Even better, it helped to smooth out the 2-stroke power surge, so the extra power is also more usable! At high speed / RPM, I'm not having any issues with reed flutter now. I can't say enough good things about these reeds! I won't ever run anything different.
The reeds seem to be a great replacement for worn out reeds. They fit up perfectly on my CR250 and the bike runs as expected. I don't think you're going to notice any real difference unless your reeds needed replacing. I wouldn't buy these just because they are a "performance" part. Simply just a good alternative to OEM replacement.
I was doing the top end and put a set of these in just for the heck of it. Pretty simple. I've had good luck with Boyesen stuff in the past and I notice a difference in response and low end vs the stock reeds.
I was looking for a better replacement for my reeds. I've used Boyesen reed cages before in other bikes and knew they were a quality product. I really don't have a baseline comparison, but the throttle response, as on any well jetted 2 stroke bike is crisp and clean. The Boyesen pro series reeds deliver a nice clean hit off bottom into the upper mid range, but it really kicks in when you reach the upper rpm range. This is where I noticed the biggest power gains. The Rm likes to be short shifted though and I feel I ride faster when I am riding in the middle of the power band. All in all the replacement Boyesen reeds really cleaned this bike up.
It's a trail ridden KDX200 so I'm not out there doing triples. I simply did a top end and changed the original reeds to these. Was expecting a difference, but if any, it simply made me rejet the carb. When carb was rejet, bike ran fine, but...basically the same. Still a one kick wonder, great on trails and overall incredible bike. The new reeds gave me confidence in reliability, but not a change in performance. Quality was evident, fit was perfect, and more than likely they were cheaper than stock.

Helped smooth out the power of the KX65. Without KIPS this thing has an on/off power delivery. With some gearing change, one tooth up on front sprocket, he said the bike felt slower. I can attest that he was definitely faster. Remember sometimes what feels slow is fast! It's easier to ride harder when you don't have to worry about the power coming on so hard. Well worth it for the price. Did what we needed it to do.

I have tried most of the other set ups that replace the stock reed cage and they take from somewhere to add somewhere else. Boyesen Pro Series reeds give you more everywhere without costing you anything in any throttle position or rev range. Plus the throttle response is incredible and they last FOREVER.

My son really liked the added punch it provided. Running stock cylinder. Said it made coming out of sand a bit easier. Easy to install, just follow the directions and don't use the stock limiters as stated in the instructions.

Replaced some chipped OEM reeds with the Boyesen Pro. I heard the dual stage was the way to go and I've been impressed. Has a big snap into the powerband. Quality reeds and didn't feel the need to fork out $$$ for VF3.

I was inspecting my reeds and saw the dreaded fraying/chipping at the corners of my OE reeds. Yeah I could of bought this over that and so on. I have ran boyesen reeds in my CR500 for years with great results. So I did the same for CR250. Easy to install, great quality and picked up better response and some noticeable gains. Cant go wrong..
