    Special Notes:

    • Recommend using red loctite on the insert to prevent it from coming loose. Azonic double wall and Renthal Twin Wall Handle bars are a larger ID than other aluminum bars and these inserts DO NOT fit these bars. These are the only 2 bars BRP has found that are not compatable at this time.
BRP Threaded Bar Inserts ... are a more secure mounting system for aluminum handlebars using wrap-around style enduro hand guards. They are sold as a self install kit that includes two inserts, two flathead bolts to mount your handguards , one 5/8-11 tap to thread your handlebars and an instruction sheet to guide you through the install procedure. BRP inserts install with a common hex key wrench and can be transfered from one bike to another.

The basic concept of tapping the handlebar to accept the threaded insert works like a charm. By limiting the depth of the tapped handle bar you can tightly bottom out the threaded insert preventing them from loosening. The throttle side insert is apprx 1/4" longer to accomodate the throttle pipe. The tap comes marked so it is simple to tap your bars to the correct depth.

The threaded bar insert is the most solid mount on the market at this time and outperforms anything else.

BRP Threaded Bar End Insert Kit
Great product and easy to install. I used an 18" tap handle with some 30wt motor oil and all went well. Say good bye to those tapered aluminum inserts that always seemed to pop out when I dropped the bike.

    Works great!
Rock solid. Holds the hand guards in perfect location even with the largest of hits. I buy these for each bike and set of bars I have.

    Quality tap for many installs
Absolutely the best way to mount hand guards. Just remember to use tapping fluid.

    LOCKS the handguards in!
Used on Cycra Probend on a KTM. Excellent and it'll lock those suckers down!!! I'll never go back to expansion bolts.

    BRP threaded bar ends
I purchased these thinking that threaded bar ends would be an improvement over the standard attachment method and it might have been if I could have ever gotten the tap to bite. Gave up after numerous tries and went with the original attachment method.

    Bar inserts
Installed in my Flexx bars no problem. Use a good cutting fluid. The tap was too large for for the tap tools I have so I had to use a Cresent wrench which added some time. It'll be nice not having to worry about those bolts coming loose any more.

Pain to install but worth it
My bars on my 2018 KTM were a huge pain to tap. I don't know if the tap was low quality (it is Chinese) or if my bars are a slightly small ID, but it was difficult to start and difficult to cut. I went back and fourth with lots of lube and was only able to cut about an 1/8 turn at a time without so much torque that I starting getting afraid I'd break the tap.
Also the tap isn't marked for depth, so I had to figure out on my own how deep to make the threads. Even if it was marked, the inserts are 2 different sizes so I don't know how that would work.
I don't really know why the inserts are different sizes, I think the shorter one would work fine on both sides. In fact, the Billet Proof Designs inserts are both the same size.
I really like the way these have a hex drive to install them. I think this is superior to the BPD inserts which you have to double nut.
I would recommend these with the understanding that they'll be a fight to install. Although I only have a couple crashes on them I feel like they'll hold up well and they seem way better than the expanding inserts that I've been using forever.

I haven't installed the BPD set that I bought for my other bike. I like the fact that the BPD are both the shorter length so that means less tapping (and lighter I guess). But I think I like the hex drive on the inside of these.

    Best Barkbuster Setup By Far
I paired these with the BRP Hand Guard Mounts and the Cycra Probend guards. By far the best setup for barkbusters. FYI dont overtap the bars and only use threadlocker as per the instructions.

Works great, beats the snot out of expanding anchors
The tap worked great for me, and the inserts threaded in perfectly. Be careful not to tap too deep or the insert will not seat well. Many thread lockers only work well under load, so partially threading it in won't work well, it must be seated firmly.

Also note, the inserts are driven in with a hex driver. The instructions don't mention this...

Will works for all wrap around style handguards? Specifically the cycra probend?
    Asher S on Feb 25, 2018
    BEST ANSWER: Hello,

These threaded inserts will work with all wrap around style hand guards that use an M8 bolt at the handlebar end. They will work great with the Cycra Pro Bend.
