Great upgrade over stock KX500 pegs. (These also fi...

These seem like really good foot pegs for my KX500. I don't know how they will hold up to the elements yet, but they look and feel great so far. I would give them 5 stars, except for one thing. They needed to be slightly modified to fit, and that also makes installation a wee bit harder than you'd imagine. The right peg requires that you remove the rear brake pedal to install the kingpin. Well, once you do that, the larger than OEM peg is in the way when you try to re install the brake pedal. This required grinding away a small portion of the rear corner of the peg to make clearance for the brake pedal to slip back onto the pin on the frame. It is a fairly easy modification, if you have a good grinder and some basic skills, and it won't compromise the strength of the peg at all, but this also makes reinstalling the return spring for the pedal kind of tricky. I just think it would've been nice of IMS to rectify this issue before green lighting these pegs. The left peg is super easy.

  • Trail Tech Kickstand

    Awesome kickstand

Took me one ride with my beginner son to realize I was going to be getting off my bike a lot and really needed a kick stand. I looked a lot at different kick stands and read reviews and felt like the trail tech was the best options. It looks great and I really like how it mounts and does not contact my side plate. Installation was straightforward and relatively easy. Make sure you have a spring puller. There was no way I could have got this on without one. Other people have complained about the kickstand being too tall and I think this is a fair complaint. It clearly hold my bike more straight up than the stock kickstand on my sons TTR. It's not of the verge of ever tipping over on flat ground and I actually prefer it on uneven terrain out on the trail. Only time it is inconvenient in my opinion, is maybe on the driveway. I have to make sure the kickstand is down hill, otherwise it doesn't have enough lean to go uphill. My only reason for not giving full score on the durability is because I don't think the plastic foot will last forever. It's nice that it doesn't scratch up my epoxy floor in the garage, but metal may be best in the outdoors. Haven't had any problems yet, but I am sure it will break or wear through one day. I installed with Loctite and to the recommended torque spec and nothing has ever come loose on me like a few reviewers had happen. Overall, it has been great. Very happy with this.
