Worth every penny. Works great for us DIY’rs. Definitely recommend.
I used the 77-83 ball hone in the cylinder of my 2008 YZ250F while doing a top end rebuild. Was a little bit hard getting it started in the bore. Once I got it going I used pretty slow RPMs and only moved it up and down the bore about 6 times. Turned out great. I recommend it.

Is this okay to use on a 02 kx85?i just don’t want to destroy the material but the rings went and the cross hits are not there anymore.
Nicholas H on Nov 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sure, it works fine on plated cylinders, don't over do it just until you see a cross hatch pattern. Be sure to wash the cylinder with hot soapy water, it removes the honing residue better than solvent. Check your bore with a clean paper towel if it comes out with any dark marks wash it again!
Hi I noticed that these are silicon carbide flex hones, pretty well everything I've read about these so far has said that you should use aluminium oxide for nikasil plated cylinders and the company even promotes them specifically for ones nikasil plated. Obviously you guys wouldnt be selling something that wouldn't be good to use I'm just curious why you guys sell these ones over the other because I've read so much conflicting opinions on the matter and judging by the comments here these seem to have worked just fine for everyone who's bought one?
Peter W on Nov 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We use this style of hone on multiple machines. Here is a video we have of the product. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7OpHrRkSQI&feature=emb_logo
What size should I buy for a 1996 cr 125?
A shopper on Jun 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The 52-54 mm hone is what you want.
Just wondering if this will work for my 2002 yz250 with an oversized 68.5mm piston? The description says good for 65 - 67mm. Thinking it should still work.
JOSHUA C on Mar 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Looking at the flex-hone chart, your next size up would be 70mm. Too big. We used the 64mm hone on a Yamaha RD350 with a standard 64mm bore. It was plenty snug. My guess is that you will have enough contact to do an even de-glazeing job on your YZ. We had no issue with the hone buggering up the chamfer on the ports: however, the direction of the hone was evident just by the crispness of the chamfer on the leading edge of the port. We would use this hone again. The ports appeared to have knocked off a lot of the initial abrasive on the hone, and this is normal.
Is this safe to use on Nikasil plated cyclinders?
A shopper on Jan 31, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this hone is designed for Nikasil cylinders, it is very important to have the correct size for your bore diameter and use the hone correctly, drill speed RPM and the rate honing up and down inside the bore have to balance to give you a good crosshatch pattern.
I am looking at the hone for a 2019 kx450 but do not see what grit the hone is. I would prefer a 320 to 400 grit hone but do not know what this one is?
A shopper on Jan 10, 2020
BEST ANSWER: To my knowledge this a 350 grit. Twice in an twice out gave my cylinder a perfect pattern. Follow instructions and it is perfect.

What fits a 2017 yzf250fx? The only option in the menu is just a 250f and 250x but no 250fx.
A shopper on Apr 18, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, this does not fit your machine. However, we have part 1427060004 that will fit.
BRM, the manufacturer of the Flex Hone, states a 240 grit, AO (aluminum oxide) hone should be used for Nikasil plated cylinders for deglazing. The one I received from RM is a 320 grit SC (silicon carbide) hone. Not too sure if i want to run it through my cylinder. Any chance you guys have the 240 AO hone for an exchange? Thanks
JIM F on Feb 28, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We only carry the 320 Grit Silicone Carbide. If you would like to return it, please contact us at 1-800-336-5437 or email [email protected]
What size do I need for a 13 KX450f? The 90-95mm or the 96-105mm. My piston is a 95.96mm, I don’t want to use the wrong one and mess up my cylinder.
A shopper on Nov 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would use the 96-105.
I have a klr650 with 100 bore, would this be able to get me to the 100.2mm for the pro x piston kit ? if it isnt intended for increasing bore size, i'll get the 100mm kit.
Adr A on Nov 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: A flex hone is only intended to restore crosshatch in the cylinder and remove glazing not to increase bore size.
