This is a good packing that lasts and sounds good! But it's so messy if you have to cut into it, and cutting into it is stupidly hard. I would rather use household fiberglass then this stuff. I repacked both shorty and a turbine core 2 for a yz125 and it was a nightmare...
the outer bag that holds the packing melts to the perforated core and seals it off making the the repack only quiet for a few races then it gets loud too quickly. when you disassemble the packing is still in good shape but the bag has melted and basically sealed it off. the plain old style fmf packing works (keeps bike quiet) longer..
I bought this to repack the 2.1 muffler and unfortunately, its nowhere near enough packing. The packing seems quality, i like the cut lines, and if you have a standard silencer, go for it. If you have the new 2.1 silencer which came standard on my gas gas, this will not do the trick, its not enough to fill the can.
I will start off by saying my family has used FMF products since the early 90's and have always had EXCELLENT products. I needed to repack the Titanium2 silencer on my YZ250 and bought this. What a mistake. The packing is so thick no matter how I tried it would NOT go into my canister. It was also super hard to try and roll around the silencer tube and when I needed to trim it to length, it pretty much shed all of its stringey wool everywhere. This was very frustrating for me and I ended up throwing it away and buying the other FMF packing.
Product was perfect for the application. Easy instructions on the packaging. Things did get a little messy once I cut the material to length. It was just a little tricky to get everything fit in at the same time. Not to bad though.
I have a 2017 TX300, I have repacked 4 times with FMF regular or Lexx (easiest to work with and good price). My bike has an FMF Turbine Core 2.0. Non of the pre-cut seams came out anywhere near the 3/4-1" on the packaging. So I cut it and it exploded out. If it's made for this product why don't the seams line up. Maybe I am missing something, in the meantime I wasted money.
Bought this to repack my FMF Q Stealth. Have used other cheaper packing in the past with ok results, but this stuff is BOMB. It is in a "pillow" so it is super easy to install. Returned the noise level to factory performance. Highly recommend, will buy again.
