Details

FMF’s Turbine Core 2.1 Silencer is one of the most up to date slip-ons you can get for your 2 stroke exhaust, and it’s complete with convenient spark-arrested performance that proves FMF loves to support 2 strokes and their riders.

Built with an aluminum canister and a stainless mid-pipe and end cap, the 2.1 delivers a smooth power curve throughout the rpms while still coming in at a lighter weight than your stock setup. That’s even considering the larger diameter canister that allows for more packing material and longer service intervals.

But, the 2.1’s main claim to fame is its integrated USFA approved "Turbine Dampening System" spark arrestor. This system prevents all sparks from exiting the exhaust, but it doesn’t choke the flow of exhaust gases like a screen-type arrestor can. It’s also essentially impossible for the Turbine Core to become clogged by residual oil or "spooge" as is common with screen arrestors.

    Specs:
  • USFS approved internal/non-removable spark arrestor
  • Spark arrestor eliminates exhaust gas restriction
  • "Turbine Dampening System" will not clog like screen type arrestors
  • Spark arrestor assembly requires very little maintenance
  • Retains power and smooths power curve
  • Lightweight construction weighs less than stock
  • Stainless steel stinger and end cap
  • Aluminum alloy canister body
  • Increased canister diameter for more packing material and longer life
  • Design cues taken from 4.1 four stroke exhaust
  • Made 100% in USA

Awesome pipe and awesome value!
Great pipe! Makes the bike sound amazing and keeps me legal with having a spark arrestor as we are required to have one here in British Columbia. Great bang for the buck! Gotta also say I’ve bought a few things for my bike from Rocky Mountain ATVMC and the customer service has been impeccable!

Big Muffler
Thought I’d try the 2.1, since I have several turbine core 2s on the stable of KTMs. No discernible reduction in sound, and it is 20-30% bigger. It is more susceptible to trail damage vs. the TC2 and priced way up there in the ‘new bling’ range. Save your money and just buy the FMF Turbine Core II...both are Forest legal with spark arrestor...

Beautiful addition
Installation and fitment is pretty straight forward although I needed a longer rear bolt to reach the subframe (2011 KTM 200 XCW). Very quiet over the stock XCW muffler although it does stick out a bit more but is overall larger than the standard unit.

Would buy another for my other bike.

It is very nice
Noticeably quieter than the stock exhaust at idle. Used a decible meter app and it ranges from 88 to 92 decibels for a 2019 KTM 300 XC-W TPI. The USFS is what I really needed it for though.

Not quite lined up right
It took some muscle to get it on, and the side panel is a little pushed out, but it does look nice. I felt a little less snap in the power on the first ride. I'll play with jetting and see if I can get that sorted but since it's going to be a woods bike not a big deal. Being legal with The Man is the main thing.

Changed out to get the spark arrester. Performance is as good as stock, maybe a little more torque and quieter. Fit and finish is great, just like all FMF products. It has a USFS approved stamp and there is a cone inside with vents around base of cone to allow exhaust to pass through.

What's the difference between this and the turbinecore II?
Jarem E on Dec 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: FMF has updated the internal components of the "Turbine" part of the Turbine Core inside the silencer that has better sound dampening and will allow the exhaust to have a better flow. That is the difference between the Turbine Core II and the 2.1.
Does the turbine core 2.1 come with a removable spark arrestor ?
Dave E on Jul 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, it is built into the pipe. I have a 17' 300 XCW Six Days and there was a noticeable power increase with the turbine core 2.1 over the stock Six Days Silencer. Great pipe for the money.
Does this have a USFS stamp or if the typical ranger puts in a measuring tool will it stop like the screen style arrestors?
Aleksey M on Feb 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will stop the ranger broom handle trick. Totally approved spark arrestor. No worries there. Great silencer. Just get it
Does this come with the rubber bushings and aluminum flanges?
A shopper on Jul 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it comes with everything you will need. I believe it may even come with new bolts depending on the model of your bike
What is the length of the can? I wanna put one one my 2019 300 xcw tpi.
I’m hoping is shorter than stock silencer
Matt k on Jun 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Not sure what the size of the stock one is, but the length of the can of this FMF Turbine Core 2.1 on my Husky TE300 is 17.5 inches. The stinger of course adds to that. But, I can say that it fit perfectly. Nothing to push, pull twist or alter. I am reasonably certain it will fit your bike if you choose the correct bike from the drop down list. I did buy one of these in a 'One Size' fits all for a 1981 Suzuki RM125. It is only 13.5 inches and is supposed to have universal operation. Works well on that bike too. Both my bikes now have Forest Service approved spark arrestors.
Anyone have any examples of the decibel output for this silencer. Purchasing it for 2019 KTM XC-W TPI. Is it quieter than the stock Six Days exhaust?
Kyle A on May 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I think the decibel output is about the same as stock. I mounted mine on a 150 XC-W. This FMF silencer emits a slightly lower tone, not quite as "tinny" as the stock KTM silencer. I like my FMF silencer very much and I like a quiet bike. The silencer is very well made and can be installed in just a few minutes. It fits perfectly.
I bought this for my 2019 Ktm 250 xcw tpi... put it on and it makes my bike run like crap. Any advice?
austin b on May 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Austin! My first question is, did you get the right silencer for the TPI and not Carb? FMFs website shows 2 different part numbers. You might want to contact them directly? They’re very good at answering your questions. Another idea would be that you need a different tune on your ECU so it will run correctly? I hope this helps. Good luck!
With the turbine core 2.1 will I have to rejet my 2017 yz250x? Yamaha
A shopper on Aug 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I haven't had any jetting issues with just a silencer change. I cleaned the jetting up a bit when I bought the bike, but I haven't had any problems with jetting since installing the Turbinecore 2.1.
Anyone own this for a KTM 250 and is it quieter than the stock XCW pipe?
Pierre-Luc S on Apr 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have it on a Husqvarna TX 300 and have friends with it on KTM 300s. The sound level is basically the same as stock.
How far will this stick out on a 2004 cr250?
Adam D on Jun 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not far at all great muffler
Will this fit my ktm 150 sx 2012?
Justin C on May 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: To see if this part will fit your machine please enter the make, model, and year into our "Choose a vehicle" drop down boxes found above the product image. If your machine is not listed, we may not carry the right item for your application. If you have a 2019 year model but don't see your machine as an option, please contact a tech via Live Chat or call us at 1-800-336-5437 for assistance.
Will a silencer for a 16 TC 125 fit a 16 TE 125?
A shopper on Aug 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would think that it would fit because they both use the same frame and subframe.
Specifically for a 2017 KTM 300 XC, how much does the turbine core 2.1 weigh? What are length and width dimensions of the muffler body? These specifications should be available so people can compare it to the oem muffler.
Robert A on Jul 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have measured the silencer and it is 27" long overall, the canister itself with end cap is 17" long, 3.75" wide and weighs 4 lbs.
